That's why I was excited to see Biggs transfer to the OHL so he can possibly find his scoring touch and improve offensively. I think he'll improve offensively but it's just a matter of how much and can it get to the point of being consistent in the future.

Yeah I also think most power forwards develop better in the CHL. Its a game much more suited for them, but I think AHL would have been ideal. He is much big and should absolutely dominate, at least physically, the AHL has players closer to his physical maturity, and the talent is higher which can help him develop his game.

AHL would have been nice but is he even allowed to play in the AHL at his age?
I'm sure Biggs will make the jump to the AHL and continue his long road to the NHL, hopefully sooner rather than later. He is just that type of player you want on your team.

Technically no because he doesn't turn 20 until next year, but I heard somewhere he was eligible somehow, Im guessing something similar to Girgensons ?

If I'm not mistaken, kids who go the NCAA route can play in the AHL before they're 20
the article was made on september the 29th and it mentioned that he's only had 1 assist in 2 games. He's been on a good and promising roll since then that's for sure, I just hope he continues to build and improve for a full season.

Even if he finishes at his low end - 3rd line - there could be a crazy physical bottom two lines:
Biggs 6'3 224
Broll 6'3, 235
Devane 6'5, 220
plus guys like Brad Ross, etc.
Someones gonna have to get traded.
With Frattin already a solid 3rd liner with some 2nd line ability, Kulemin with at LEAST 3rd line skill etc. it's gonna be hard to cram anymore people into the 3rd line.
Devane deserves 4th line, broll maybe, Biggs could either be a 2nd or 3rd liner. Doubtful all 3+Ross will make the team though.

Players drafted out of the CHL have the age 20 rule. It is part of the agreement between NHL and CHL.

IMO, one dimensional players are more likely to be feast or famine types.
D'Amigo has a great chance to make it, he's proven at various levels he can produce (NCAA, U18, U20), and he's proven defensively capable in the AHL.
Biggs likely has a great chance of making it and if his offense is for real, they'll be thrilled with him.

Here is a decent write-up. I wouldn't take everything written as gospel, but close enough:
with guys like tyler biggs, nazem kadri, joe colborne, finn, percy, rielly we have some solid depth. Wish we had more high end forwards that were still in junior but we do have some nice D.

Well to be fair, I bet if you went back 3 or 4 years ago you'd find plenty of Leafs fans excited about guys who ended up being nothing. Just like how we're excited about the new toys who will fall off the map a few years down the road. It will never end, the system isn't as good as we think and it's not as bad as some think. It's somewhere in the middle, like always.
This may be true of the more "flip-flop" types of fans but when I look back a few years ago there were very few who I thought would definitely make the NHL. While they may only end up filling bottom line roles, I'm actually quite confident about a lot of our players at the very least carving out an NHL niche. That's vastly different than a few years. As with mining gold, with luck a few of them are nuggets (but I'll still be happy with flakes).

Ha my bad, saw him on the Leafs roster on their website and had a brain fart I guess.
Anyway in the next year or so I don't think Biggs will have a problem cracking the AHL when his biggest competition will be Ashton and Greg Scott. It'll be interesting to watch the Marlies in the next couple of years.
P.S. I thought Rosehill was a lot younger than 27...kind of surprised he's the same age as Brown.
