Grigs has set up goals by Hecht and Stafford in a 48 hour span.

This should tell you how talented he is.

He's developing. A work in progress.

But I know one or two around here who think he'll never be an NHL talent

It'll be fun when someone wants to break up Hecht-Grigs-Staff before next game.

This has been Grigs' best game so far. Not sure where the "first day on skates" comment is coming from. He's been engaged pretty much every single shift....challenging people, back-checking, and fighting for position.

He fell at one point trying to turn. Didn't really matter though, since he was nowhere near the play, so it didn't really take away from how well he's doing tonight

I'm guessing a 3-2 win for the Sabres in this one against the Rangers.

Because he fell with nobody around a couple times.

Ever since that Flynn-Porter-Kaleta shift, the Sabres have really picked up their play. That's exactly what you want from an "energy" line.

Agreed. He still has moments offensively where he has to learn what works in juniors isn't going to work in the NHL, but he's really settled in.

Getting some bounces since that Tampa game. Grigs' assist went off the inside of the RW's skate and right into Stafford's wheelhouse.

Plugging Grigorenko between Hecht and Stafford, two veterans with above-average chops defensively, is a smart way to break him in a bit more.

This is the first game I've really had a chance to watch since Rolston took over. The work ethic is there, no doubt.

The talent isn't.

I've seen a couple shifts where he fell on his ass when nothing was around,he also looks like he skating in slush..But as others have said the ice does look pretty bad..he also dident need to skate anywhere when he set up Staff lol..

I'd also like to note that this roster is littered with role players - something we never really saw on Lindy Ruff teams. Really, it's refreshing. While they aren't superior in terms of talent, you can see that Rolston values hard working players that contribute defensively.
