Elliott truly is fighting everything. He has zero confidence.
It's frustrating. Last year and coming into the season I liked our team and felt we had a strong group of players, and no real dead weight on this team. Well now the bad players are apparent. Elliott, Redden are the obvious ones, but Russell and D'Agostini are just not good and really provide nothing good out there on the ice. D'Agostini is so useless and one-dimensional (and doesn't even use that one-dimension so really he's just invisible) it's aggravating.
Russell's not playing well right now, but I've seen enough from him in the past that I'm not ready to lump him in with Redden and D'Agostini.
I'm not quite ready to give up on Elliott, either.
My prediction for the 3rd. Blues tie in after attacking all period. Elliott lets in a softie with less than 3 minutes to go in the period. Blues lose and 5 more Trade Perron or Trade Shattenkirk threads appear.
Credit Perron for single handedly turning the momentum around for the last 1:30 before the TV Timeout. Neutral zone turnover, sustained offensive zone time, and then forcing an offensive zone draw solely because of his work.
