Good thing orpik and letang are back together. They're quite the defensive dynamos when paired up

I actually wonder that myself. CLB GM supposedly in town for tonight's game, and it's getting to be that time of year..

Could be a precursor to a move.

Haha 3rd thread I'm posting this is.

Bennett was sent down only to clear a roster spot for Malkin. Boychuk isn't automatically off the Penguins roster when he's put on waivers. We had 24 players in Pittsburgh.

Someone will claim Boychuk tomorrow, when that happens we will have 22 forwards with the roster space to recall Bennett.

Makes sense. Bennett is probably still in Pittsburgh. Hence the reason he was scratched/not on a line at practice.

Yes. This was confirmed by Seth from Empty Netters.

Just had it confirmed Boychuk is still technically part of the roster until he is claimed/assigned.

@YinzerJagoff Seems like it was just a paper transaction with Malkin off IR. Need to get roster down to 23 until Boychuk is claimed/assigned

Yep.

Oh, unless the rules have changed, Bennett still has to report to WBS to check in.

I think he's just doing what he's told (let) to do... Geno is the kind of guy that plays as soon as he is allowed.

Playing him vs Tampa is a decision i disagree with btw; i don't see the urge to let him play basically the day after he had the very first slight contacts in practice. Should have let him getting more practice with full contact* to see how he would react first.

Anyway, hopefully everything will go well and these will be seen as pointless qualms.

Malkin was only out a week. They were hesitant to call it a concussion at all at the beginning and only did so once he had the memory issue. Everyone with the team maintains that he's had *no* other symptoms. I don't think anyone said he failed any of the baseline tests immediately after the original hit.

I think after the Sid Situation, no one is coming back too quick or anything. I trust his return is met with the proper amount of caution.

I sure hope your right and that the team is going about this the right way, after the Crosby fiasco I never wanted to hear the word concussion again.

Would be nice to see Crosby increase his lead on Stamkos tonight, maybe even close the gap in goals a little.

I would have liked to see Boychuck get more of a shot. Sure he flubbed some opportunities but he showed some promise IMO.

speaking of... Despres better not sit now, because they could have just sent him down if he wasn't going to play.

IRing Martin was a possibility, but I'm guessing that since they didn't, it means he would have been ineligible to play on Thursday, and they expect him to be ready on Thursday.
