I'll go back and clear that up thanks. I was referring to getting a better player than Oduya.

I was listening to WGN Radio after the game and a guy called in saying how great Oduya played.

There are mixed feelings about Oduya. He is PMD that is very very good on man to man coverage. Oduya's defense and play around the crease has been outstanding. His stick is always in the right place. He had one costly or could have been costly turnover tonight. He has a costly or borderline bad turnover every other game.

The only hole in Oduya's game is his carelessness clearing the puck in the defensive zone. I think it is correct to call him out on this.

I'm glad that we have him signed for the cap hit he is signed for 3.33 for another two years. I think he is exactly what the Hawks needed as a #4 defenseman. He rarely if ever gets beat one on one. And two on two Oduya and Hjalmarsson are shut down like a #1 pairing. So I agree with the turnovers, but you are unrealistic to think we could have gotten a better fitting defenseman. Oduya has fit in well with the Blackhawks.

Grass isn't always greener on the other side be happy with Oduya and hope that Q calls him out on the b.s turnovers

I honestly don't know what to say about this streak anymore. At this point, it's just ridiculous.

Also, I worship at the altar of Kane.

As sick as Kane's move was, that save Crawford made is going to stick with me. That should be legendary. The one where he moved to his left with his leg and glove in the air. I can't figure out how he knew that puck was coming high.

1. If we play those 22 games again, we wouldn't be without a regualtion loss.
2. Holy **** that was a great game to watch
3. Puck possesion was huge the first 40 min of the game
4. Holy **** Kaner, that was sick
5. Stalberg keeps getting better and better. Sucks to lose him most likely cause he's too good
6. Hail Corey Crawford. Those saves were outstanding.

7. yes I say it, DATSYUK is great but overrated

Datsyuk is playing with what should be 4th liners now. Give him a break. He's still a great talent.

Datsyuk definitely isn't overrated as a dangler and great two way player. He's actually one of my favorite players in the league despite being on the Wings. But I've seen a lot of people say he's a top 5 forward in the league which I don't agree with.

Lolno. Datsyuk is one of the best players in the game.

This is even more ludicrous than the folks who say Kane has been more valuable than Toews....

It is easy to make the argument that this year he has been.

They're both pretty clutch, but Kane takes it to a different level. Kane's more elite in the offensive end, but Toews produces too. Toews has all the intangibles which everyone loves. You can't go wrong with either one of them. They both are huge reasons for the team's resurgence.

Datsyuk, to me, seems to be good but not great in games against the Hawks. He and Toews seem to neutralize each other head to head. I can't remember either of those guys having big games in Hawks-Wings games over the last few years.

What was the problem yesterday? Yes, the whole team played a little sloppy at times but Keith made a few great plays.

left guys wide open around the net, committed turnovers, lazily waved his stick around in his version of playing defense and was absolutely terrible in the offensive zone. of course it was the third game in 4 days and everyone plays bad from time to time, just hope he plays more like the guy we saw the first 15 or so games than the last few the rest of the season. Looked a lot like 09-10

.....how do you figure? I can't wrap my head around how people can say he is overrated.

There might not be a player in the league I'm still more nervous about the Hawks playing than Datsyuk, stats be damned (whatever they are, I have no idea). Guy does everything and creates so much havoc on his own offensively, let alone if he has any decent linemates.

Yeah, the only time he really stood out to me was when he popped Crow in the mask with the puck.

IMO, Datsyuk is about the same as Hossa. When they are on, they are the best 2 way players in the game, when they are off, they are just really good.

Most of the difference b/w Toews & Kane's point totals is on PP. I don't put much stock into that to be honest.

Kane is far, far worse in his own zone and that hasn't changed. But of course, whenever he puts up points nobody cares that he doesn't play much defense.

Oh, not to mention the 60% faceoff percentage that Toews has. That makes up for a lot of the difference in scoring right there.

Toews is as valuable as Kane, neither is more important than the other.
