No. Kyle Wellwood fought off the checking of 3 Tampa players along the boards and fed Tangradi on the left hand side, who roofed it cleanly behind Lindback, who was likely anticipating a cross crease pass to Slater.

Both Jeff Skinner and Jason Chimera got nailed while making the same stupid play.

Not only were they admiring their pass, but they were looking back over their left shoulder while doing so.

Skinner was engaged off the rush and dropped it backwards behind his back. Chimera was cutting across the middle of the neutral zone and passed it back behind his back.

Weber and Strachan with Euro interference / sympathy calls.

Tangradi with a goal and an interview with Kathryn T. This should inspire a new thread with several hundred entries.

Boychuk was interviewed by her on NHL Net after his 3rd or so Pens game.

They'll interview anybody.

Caps are now suddenly in a better spot than the flyers. 2 pts behind with 3 games in hand.

Flyers are done if they don't at least split with jersey.

We're only halfway through. Too much hyperbole going on right now.

They played 25 games and have 23 points. 11-13-1 .

Would basically have to go 16-7 or at very least 15-8 the rest of the way. 3 out of next 4 games are against Boston and jersey.

Not really hyperbole if you ask me. It's going to be very tough for them.

Halfway thru is a lot different when it's a full season.

A week ago the Caps were done. Now they are not. A lot can change in one week.

The Caps still aren't in a great spot either, despite winning 7 of their past 10. Let's face it, if you absolutely need to play over .600 hockey to have a chance to make it, you're in trouble.

It helps that they're in the worst division in the NHL

NHLPA approves of realignment. Now it's up to the BoG to make it official for next season. Penguins will be in a division with CAR, CBJ, NJ, NYI, NYR, PHI, and WSH.

Possibly making it less likely CBJ will deal any important players (namely Brassard) to us... then again this is CBJ. Not like they're close to being a contender. Looking forward to a renewed rivalry with WSH... although looking at those teams, other than CBJ there are no easy games in those schedules. Might be analogous to football where we beat the hell out of each other for six months then by the time the playoffs roll around the division leaders are all beat to hell from the regular season.

Chicago may be in a position to be dominant for a long time as they've got 3 "often soff" teams in their division (Winnipeg, MN, CO) and they subtract Detroit. Their biggest rival going forward is STL and while skilled they're not exactly a rough bunch to play against (physically).

Getzlaf is good and all that, but given that Sid resigned for 8.7 a year and the cap going down, that's an expensive deal for the Ducks. Means Perry likely walks and gets similar money.

Sid took a discount, Getzlaf didn't. If Sid didn't, he'd be making max thus Getzlaf signing looking about right.

Would be quite funny if the Flyers do somehow get in the playoffs in 8th on the last day (Get knocked out in the 1st) and the team in the 9th place spot in the East gets the #1 overall.

Getz has broke 80 points what twice in his career? Is he a top 10 player in the League? Because that's what he is being payed like now. Ducks overplayed here by a million per season.

Sure makes you appreciate our guys when you see a signing like this....

It's not a horrible contract, but it definitely should take the wind out of the sails of those who want to give up prime assets for Perry and think he can be re-signed for a cap hit starting with a 6.

It sure makes me appreciate Sid and Geno's deals, but also makes me worried that Geno's agent will look at Getzlaf's deal and force Shero's hand when his deal is up.
