3 out of 4 points in a back to back. I'll take it.
Hecht-Grigs-Staff looked good again.
Miller, aside from the 5-on-3 and shootout.
Bad:
RJ and Rayzor constantly calling Rick Nash Steve Nash.
Ugly:
The Power Play.
Kaleta's hit on Richards.
The Power Play.
Girardi's hit on Ennis.
The Power Play.
Kaleta thread on the main board.
The Power Play.
Richards selling the hit.
Did I mention the Power Play?
Awesome to see multi-sport talent Steve Nash tonight. Really special.
Good -
- Better team speed, even in a 3-games-in-4-nights situation
- Gerbe's shorty
- What I saw of the game, really liked Weber again tonight. Simple, effective.
Bad -
- Kaleta's play was stupid and cost them 2 goals.
- Miller biting on Callahan's fake AGAIN.
Ugly -
- How Richards hit the boards. Glad the guy is ok.
- No consistency in the officiating again.
- With or without Vanek, the powerplay has been terrible for weeks. Time for a new voice there as well.
- Owned at the dot again. 36% for the night? Terrible.

3-0-1 in last 4
Gerbe and Ott on that play
Grigs looked good
B:
Our powerplay
Richards acting
Torts coaching
Rick Nash
U:
Kaleta hit from behind - 5 mins + misconduct (Richards played dead basically)
Ennis gets hit from behind - only 2 minutes penalty gets up right away
Its clear that the refs show bias based on injury in these penalties and that inconsistency cost us the extra point.
Just saw the Kaleta hit for the first time. Already saw the Girardi hit on Ennis as well.
I 100% expected to be disgusted by the Kaleta hit. I was ready.
But what I saw? WHAT A ****ING JOKE. Don't get me wrong, that SHOULD be called and he should get maybe a game. But there are hits worse than that EVERY GAME that aren't called or are weak 2 minute calls.
The Girardi hit on Ennis was a lot harder, but the Kaleta hit on Richards looked so bad because Richards was headed straight to the boards already.
G-
7 of 8 points
Team has looked gritty the last couple games
Rolston must be doing SOMETHING right
Ott with another solid game
Grigorenko looking better
Ehrhoff looked mostly good
Dude was beasting tonight....loved his play. Whether it was Nash, Gaborik, Richards, Hagelin...he was picture perfect tonight. The rest of the D was pretty solid too, but Sekera needs extra props.

God damn.
If Richards is against the glass, it's basically a pin out against the boards. But he was in that 4-5' area and fell so awkwardly. The penalty severity is probably due both to it being Kaleta and Richards being down, but it was still a dangerous play. That said, why Richards is bent over and so easily off balance that close to the boards after playing this game for nearly 30 years is also something to wonder at. Protect yourself guys, do what they teach 4-year olds.
