4-1 NYR

Last 3 games were kinda a fluke, getting outshot badly, playing against bottom feeders and a struggling Devils team, also beating 3 back up goalies.

Well, I guess I want them to win again..but it's tough at this point, either go on a dominant stretch and make the playoffs, or just lose and get a top pick..anywhere in between and we just end up with a mid round pick again. Why does it seem like we are destined for the latter?

The Knicks play host to LeBron and company earlier in the day. That might play a factor with regards to the quality of the ice.

Also, Swords 3, Shields (not Steve) 2

FWIW Miller is 5-0-1 with a 1.64 GAA in his last six trips to MSG.

Agreed.
Plus, they're rested and we aren't. (This always seems to be the case vs. NYR)

Either way, this will be a telling game.

This is really a WIN/WIN situation:

If Sabres WIN, then fans get a nice 4-game win streak to feel good about.

If they lose (and they really should lose this one), then the team will be yet another step closer to a desperately needed rebuild.

ENOUGH MIDDLING!!!!!! Either royally suck or be a contender. This middling no-man's land is BS.

btw...
HOLY COW, your mouth should water looking at the Rangers roster, especially that first line, not to mention they have a real "C" in Ryan C.

Oh, and....
If Miller's in net: Rangers 3, Sabres 1
If Enroth's in net: Rangers 6, Sabres 1

Makes no difference who Rangers have in net, as both Lundqvist and Biron do well against the Sabres.

Unless you believe this team can win a Cup, then sliding into a playoff position only hurts the near future of the team. ANYTHING that delays or makes the front office rethink a rebuild is EXACTLY what will lead this team to mediocrity for the foreseeable future.

Give Darcy a reason not to change much, and he will not change much.

I know that fans really want that playoffs-crack-pipe, don't they? It's a quick and easy great feeling! Sadly, there'll be no real payoff to that, as the team will just continue to languish in the middle.

Rangers are rested, and hosting a team in the second half of a back-to-back. I expect we lose.

I like your "game preview" news links in the GDT. That's kinda boss, cool to read up on both teams

I think the Sabres spent a lot of emotion in yesterday's win. It would be hard to sustain it, especially considering that the team is playing back-to-back and the Rangers are rested. So I expect a loss.

But Rolston seems to have instilled a sense of pride with these boys. They may not win, but I know he won't have them stinking out the joint.

'cause the short-term feel-good is much more important than the long-term goal.

Even if they slide into 8th, why would that make them complacent? They just let go of a long tenured coach that many people believed would at least get the rest of the season, who was one of the owner's favorites. Does the Kassian-Hodgson indicate complacency? What about trading up and drafting Girgensens? Or trading for the rights to Ehrhoff and signing him to a long term deal? The owner wants to win BADLY. The GM knows he's on the hot seat. There is no difference in finishing 8th, or finishing 15th in terms of mindset. They will do what they need to do to at least try to win it all.
