Holland was better defensively but not much better offensively, and was only 43% on face offs. Definitely not force the issue level good.

That's partially because of the crap Teemu was given since we dumped Mac. Miller, Ebbett (who can thank Teemu for his career year), Christensen, Weight, Nokelainen and Carter are the guys that Teemu toiled with until Blake and Koivu came along. He's not a guy who makes his linemates better anymore.

Still, it looks to me like he's about to come out of his funk. He was around the puck a ton last night, making smart cuts to the net, changing his angles, finding open guys. I think we just have to accept that the puck is a hand grenade to him more often than not now, but he's still more dangerous than most because he always loses coverage and he can still snipe.

edit - Holland looked okay there. He can keep up and he's an excellent passer. He gets overwhelmed under pressure though, and Teemu doesn't help with that.

It really sucks that we still don't have a 2C. This team is close to complete. Ribiero is a guy we should keep an eye on. The Caps might move him for cheap. We should try to get him for DSP and the Islanders 2nd.

Bonino not even on the trip, wonder if BB is finally telling the truth about Palmieri?

What’s the latest on Palmieri (upper body) and Bonino (flu)?
I think Kyle he’ll be on the road trip at some point for sure. I think he’ll be coming up tomorrow. Nick is still not doing well. I don’t know if you have ever had this, but it knocks the [stuff] out of you. Hopefully he’s coming on the road trip when he gets better, but we don’t want him around the players until he does get better.

Well it sounds like Bonino won't play tomorrow so maybe we'll get another chance to see Holland there. Hopefully they can form a little chemistry.

Can we call up Rakell after his season ends in juniors, and will it burn a year of his ELC if he plays?

I don't think we'll see Rakell this year, short of injury troubles. He didn't look ready for this level, yet.

no need. let him go to the AHL. we have enough players on the 4th line.
guessing Holland and mcmillan are on the 2nd line again.

and we're gonna see

Etem-Maroon-DSP? or maybe we'll see

Etem-Holland-Selanne

and Maroon-Mcmillan-DSP

I would rather Etem or belesky on first line, second line needs some help.

Etem/Belesky - Getzlaf - Perry
Ryan - Holland - Selanne
Winnik -Koivu - cogs
Etem/Belesky - Mcmillian - Maroon/DSP

Anyone who players with Getz/Pears is going to do well, we've already seen Belesky do so. Etem's speed on the first line could be very dangerous getting into rushes and forechecking.

Selanne really needs a skilled guy with him to finish some of their players, and it makes it tougher to defend. Since Ryan has picked it up maybe he can move some of that momentum to Selanne.

I would like to see Etem on the top line, Beleskey should play on 4th line to bring energy there. Also, Etem has been good lately and I think he should be rewarded for it with time with Getzlaf and Perry. His first NHL goal is close I can feel it.

Etem - Getzlaf - Perry
Ryan - Holland - Selanne
Winnik - Koivu - Cogliano
Beleskey - McMillan - Maroon

That's what I'd like to see.

I dunno if I agree that he's earned a reward of ice time. I think the best that can be said is that he's earned a reward of not being scratched.

Would love to get Andy back, but didn't the Blues just say no to signing Arnott because Steen and McDonald are going to return to their lineup soon?

edit - combine Exit Dose's comment with mine, and you're screwed either way.

Etem hasn't done anything to deserve it imo. I think he needs more icetime to develop but that should be done in the A. he's working hard, no doubt, but any scoring chance he just flies down the wing and fires a weak shot that gets blocked or straight into the chest.

I could see it if STL is out of it by the TD.

I personally would rather have Riberio but Andy could come at a much lower cost and id be for it. Kinda worries me that he's played entire year at wing though.

I have been saying about trading for McDonald for sometime now. If he can stay healthy, Ducks' scoring depth could be great!

Palmieri-Getzlaf-Perry
McDonald-Ryan-Selänne
Winnik-Koivu-Cogliano
Beleskey-Bonino-Etem

Mac might not be a center anymore but he's the playmaker that is much needed to play with Selänne.

If the price is right, do it but don't overpay for him. He's still on FA after the season and has health issues in the past.

Ribiero is good but such a punk. I don't know if I'd ever be able to support that type of player.

Mac might not be a center, but Ryan is probably just a little of a center. Id like to see a Palmieri-MacDonald-Selanne line, if we decided to go the route of bring AMac back into the fold. RPG is just so dominant rigiht now, and I think Palmieri could serve a Kunitz esque role on that line.

Am I the only one who doesn't think RPG has been that dominant? I know looking at the stats it seems that way, but I've watched every game since they've been put back together and they don't look at anymore dominant than they did when Palmieri was there IMO.

Getzlaf, on the other hand...
