There are no overtime losses rewarded with points in playoffs, isn`t there.
We have won 1 game in 5 ''series'' games vs Phoenix and Detroit. While it may not mean we will be out in the first round, those aren`t good news either, imo. There was some factors in those games, but it doesnt matter, the thing that matters, is the win
There's also no shootout. The Ducks could easily have won those games with five on five for a full period or more. Plus those weren't playoff games. Everything changes come playoff time. If you look at season series alone we should never have beaten the Red Wings in 03 and 07.
As long as we win the division and this team is hungry enough we will be fine.
If this team has to play Lovejoy with fowler than something needs to happen. I'm on the trade Allen party. I also have no issues moving Sbisa for a top six forward. His value is only going to go down IMO. Re-sign Lydman and let Allen go. He and Sbisa are pathetic and for a 5 million dollar plus pairing, they aren't worth it.
Send Allen to a skating camp to Antarctica and don't send the boat to fetch him.
Pretty close to what I'd like to see.
Rather see Sbisa-Fowler on D and keep the 3rd line intact. Selanne is best suited at this point to 4th line minutes at even strength with 2nd unit power-play time IMO.
EDIT: Crap, I don't know where to put Simmonds. (Not a bad problem to have, though )
The thing that entices me is packaging Bobby and Sbisa. Murray should see if he could bring back Coots, Simmonds, and the 2014 first round pick for Bobby and Sbisa. Then flip Holland for a replacement (upgrade) for Sbisa. Then get rid of Allen and have Lindholm and Vatanen battle for the alst defense spot with the loser spending another year in the A
Couturier isn't a legit second line center right now. We aren't trading Ryan for more inexperience. They aren't going to part with Simmonds, either.
I don't know about that one. If they got Ryan and Sbisa back they might be willing to part with Coots and Simmonds (Bobby replaces Simmonds). They would then have one of the best lines in hockey: Ryan-Giroux-Voracek
I've been sick of Ryan for the past 2 years. He is so streaky it's incredible. It's sad to see someone like him go, but I wished he was traded last year when all the talk was surrounding him. He's just too slow and not that great.
