Zuccarello

any teams interested in Zuccarello?

his KHL season is over. he has an out clause but likely only leaves for a 1 way, 2 yr deal (rest of this and next )

Rangers could bring him in but they only have 1 spot left (49 total right now)

They likely want that one more spot for a UFA rental at the deadline. Of course they could move out a contract in a deal too( Boyle, Eminger, Bickel, Gilroy are most likely)

So does Zuccarello have any value ? I doubt he is moved just for a late pick. It would be more of a package for a rental. Zuke and a pick

I don't think anyone would really take a risk on the guy for more than a late pick. Granted, I don't know too much about his situation, but no contender is going to guarantee him an NHL spot. So, you're looking at teams in the lower half of the standings, and likely those teams aren't willing to give up more than a 5th.

You tell us. What would the Rangers give up for an undersized, generally unproven player who wants to be paid and is unwilling to sign a two-way deal?

Isn't this the same guy that tried to move Kalinin, Prucha, and a pick for every borderline All-Star in the NHL?

This is zuccarello: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hBFLI0mf7U (recent game for Norway vs. Switzerland).

If NYR takes him back they HAVE to put him in an offensive line. Otherwise he's no good. If they'll put him in line 1 or 2 he will shine. Definitely.

3 way deal including Zuccarello

Not much for trading Gabby nor am I the biggest fan of Dubinsky - especially as I believe we are "going for it" now - but how about this as a Crazy idea? Mostly looking if value is there...

To Detroit
Marian Gaborik
Rights to Mats Zuccarello

To CBJ
Detroit 1st + 3rd round pick in 2013
One of Dan Cleary or Valteri Filppula
NYRs conditional 3rd rounder from CBJ (otherwise a NYR third rounder for 2014 if Rangers make SCF)

To NYR
Brandon Dubinsky
Thomas Tatar
NYRs 1st round pick 2013 back from CBJ

NYR 2013 playoffs
Hagelin - Stepan - Nash
Pyatt - Richards - Tatar
Dubinsky - Miller - Callahan
Powe - Boyle/Halpern - Haley/Asham

Plus an eventual rental or two

Next year Kreider can move up along with eventually some of Fast, Lindberg, Hrivik & Thomas eventually replacing guys like Boyle, Pyatt and Asham on the roster...
Cap is no problem at all - see below where all pending RFAs get their raises
Also plenty of space to sign a UFA RH defender with a slapshot for the PP - especially if Big Mac is not deemed ready.
There might be some interesting options of players that get bought out with the one-time buyout and become free agents as well
I dunno ?

FORWARDS
Carl Hagelin ($2.000m) / Derek Stepan ($2.500m) / Rick Nash ($7.800m)
Chris Kreider ($1.325m) / Brad Richards ($6.667m) / Tomas Tatar ($0.840m)
Brandon Dubinsky ($4.200m) / J.T. Miller ($1.244m) / Ryan Callahan ($4.275m)
Darroll Powe ($1.067m) / Brian Boyle ($1.700m) / Taylor Pyatt ($1.550m)
Arron Asham ($1.000m) / Micheal Haley ($0.600m) /

DEFENSEMEN
Ryan McDonagh ($4.300m) / Dan Girardi ($3.325m)
Marc Staal ($3.975m) / Anton Stralman ($1.700m)
Michael Del Zotto ($2.550m) / Dylan McIlrath ($1.295m)
Stu Bickel ($0.750m) /

GOALTENDERS
Henrik Lundqvist ($6.875m)
Martin Biron ($1.300m)
------
CAPGEEK.COM TOTALS (follow @capgeek on Twitter)

Yeah, way too many moving parts. And I'm not interested in Dubinsky, Tatar, or a 1st.

We'd still probably make the playoffs though.
