Haha the pick is conditional:

Bob McKenzie ‏@TSNBobMcKenzie
BTW, TOR now cheering for EDM to make playoffs this year. If so, 4th rder in 2014 for Mike Brown becomes 3rd rder in 2014.

So there is speculation that Paajarvi is going to go to OKC, Which I think is a JOKE, he has just played one of his best games of the season.

Carrying 8 defenseman is beyond ridiculous.....Make up your mind with Whitney, or hell move one of Potter or Peckham, to get that draft pick back lost in this deal.

Lineup going forward: (when healthy assuming Paajarvi down to OKC)
Hall RNH Eberle
Yakupov Gagner Hemsky
Smyth Horcoff Jones
Eager Belanger Brown
EX. Petrell Harty

N.Schultz J.Schultz
Smid Petry
Whitney Fistric
EX. Potter or Peckham (move one please)

My Leafs friend told me that the 4th round pick gets moved up to a 3rd round if the Oilers make the playoffs?

Jones, Horc, Belanger, Harti, Smyth, Petrell, Eager, Brown.
I bet Hartikainen also goes straight to the minors. Vande Velde won't be far behind either.

Hall - RNH - Eberle
Yakupov - Gagner - Hemsky
Smyth - Horcoff - Jones
Eager - Belanger - Brown

or something like that. Those are the bodies when the team is healthy.

Jones, Horc, Belanger, Harti, Smyth, Petrell, Eager, Brown.
Fistric can retroactivley be put on IR for his injury too. Just to buy a bit of time,

I'm not a fan of sending down Magnus.

Well the Oilers are just not a tough team to play against. As this short year gets closer to the end of the season the other playoff bound teams will play harder and harder. If they have a hard time beating these teams now......

This is exactly the move that this team needs. Think about keeping chemistry in the lockerroom, adding some toughness who's primary job is to protect the same players that keep getting mixed up in bad hits/fights nightly. By adding Brown, it says alot to those players who are paying the price by being targeted.

Not that I am comparing Brown to anyone, but food for thought: Micheal Peca was one of the hardest working and hitting forwards and he was 5-11 190lbs. Brown is 5-11 and over 210lbs. I am sure he will do fine in the job he will be filling. Again I repeat I am only using Peca, based on his size and how well he did his job, I am in no way saying Brown is Peca.

We filled a hole in our lineup by adding a player we dont have room for. How ironic!

We need players like brown, but it means the wrong player is going to the AHL.

Some passion would be nice.

Some passion that could play in the top 9 would be nicer.

You guys got a great team guy who'll throw down with anybody. Don't be fooled by his size. He's a tough, gritty guy who brings lots of energy, blocks shots, hits. He'll fit in great with you guys and you'll love him when he's thumping on some a$$hole for taking liberties with one of the young guns.

Brown is great. Excellent middleweight fighter, and fan favourite in Toronto. Regardless what people say you guys will like him a lot.

To the people saying he is a liability and can only play 2 minutes a night, your ignorant. He is far from a liability.

Brownie will become a fan favorite in Edmonton quickly. He'll go through a wall for his teammates, and he has speed along with a decent skill level for a 4th liner. His only knock is that he is injury prone because he plays reckless at times.

Pointless trade. Our bottom 6 W's are if anything the positive part of our team. No need to add another one. He doesn't bring anything that Eager already doesn't IMO. Our 4th line will just suck more.

If he can crush a few POS Kaleta types, I'm all for Brown.

Leafs fans on the main board are making it seem like we're giving up the world with a 4th round pick. So a 3rd round pick? Might be worth missing the playoffs just to keep
