Sunshine, rainbows and unicorns

Nothing but positive thread. We've have enough negative ones. What's going right with this team?

Please don't post negative stuff in here, just list what you see going right with the team. Call it the NP.com board....

I'll start.

Despite his slow start, Weber is now only 2 goals behind the league leader and has been on a tear lately scoring wise.

Gabriel Bourque is on pace for a 30 goal season (prorated of course)

Kevin Klein has really put it together this season and looks like a good top 4 shutdown defenseman.

Trotz still has no neck but his hair went looking for it.

The team has been scoring better with 16 goals in this 5 game road trip.

We have a ton of home games left.

I do think the future is brighter than some. I think our D core is really good and really young.

The young forward core of Wilson, Bourque, and (to a lesser extent) Smith is a good start. Mix with Horny and (a healthy? motivated?) Erat, and it's not half bad. IF Poile can play his cards right and get returns for dead weight (SK, Hannan, etc...), then I'll really look forward to next year.

As I've stated, this season has never felt right. More like an exhibition to me. If there is any year to suck it up, IMO, this is the one to do it.

actually lots of individual plusses, mainly how well the youth are coming along.

if the vets are just having a bad year because of the lockout we will be in really good shape next season

The biggest positive I see is the schedule. Lots of teams struggling on the road. Also I really like what I see in Bourque, Smith, Wilson, Josi, Blum and Ellis. I see these guys as the "core" for the next several years.

As mentioned, the young Fs - Wilson and Bork look certainly solid 2nd liners with more room for growth. Looking forward to the last 12 home games to see where Smith goes from here; just as soon see him playing wing on one of the top lines because I think in Trotz's system we want him to have creative freedom and Cs don't get that.

The D; has played about as I expected, and given Gill has been out and we've been forced to play Hannan top pair and 2nd pair mins, that's a real positive. Looking for someone outta' our "puck movers" to step up and start making the big/reliable outlet passes, but we've certainly improved on the little chip and move around the board game. Klein - turning out to be a bargain and a solid professional defenseman.

Richie Clune. How can you not like his enthusiasm and work ethic. Not sure he's around beyond this year - depending on how many of those kids we're willing to roll next year - or how many vets we might actually move at the deadline - but I would happily have him over Toots or Smitty or the true knuckle-draggers we've had as 12/13/14 Fs. He may not be a huge contributor ever, but you can't help but enjoy watching a guy like that work hard and give it all on the ice day-in day-out; you'd hope that would rub off on some.

and.... you never want your team to struggle, but if ever there was a year to do so.... it's a deep draft, and while I would argue any team in the west except COL would make the POs in the East it may not be so bad to have a pick in the 7-11 range rather than the high teens.

Glad the future of the team is finally blooming. Borkie, Wilson, and Josi are going to be the future.

Leipsic in the WHL won the scoring title this year. Interested to see what happens with him.

Weber is doing his part and Peks has shown he continues to give the team a chance to win when he is given the chance.

This week is judgement week IMO. Im looking forward to it.

By all accounts the top of the draft board is loaded this year. The Preds should be able to grab a dynamic talent.

If the Preds say screw the tank and go for the full submarine (DIVE! DIVE! DIVE!) You could have a great goal scorer to replace SK at LW...

I don't know what happened but some how Trotz has created a fast defensively responsible Hornqvist with Bourque.

For all the grief we give the team about not developing top 6 offensive talent, it seems like 2 have emerged with Wilson and Gabby, if we some how get 2 top six centers then we have a potent lineup.

For me, Bartley has been a pleasant surprise. He is better than Ellis and Blum so far and should continue to learn and grow his game.

Halischuck has look really good since his Milwaukee conditioning stint. Good forechecking, some great steals in the transition.

A fair bit of it doesn't show up in pts, but I thought he looked fresh, energetic, and, most importantly, creative on the most recent road stint.

If he keeps it up, I think he's showing a clear signal that he wants to be a part of this club and is showing directly that he can create opportunities.

Beck was fun to watch last night. Very pleasant seeing a tall forward in our uniform running folks over and shooting the puck.

The kids are looking alright. Hopefully get a great draft position. Future looking good. Peks and Weber locked up long term. This mini season is kinda like a mulligan to me anyways and has been since game 1. Next year I'll have full emotions reinvested.

Both UT and UK are one-and-dones in the No Interest Tournament. That's a positive for me.

This does make me smile.

Despite this season, I'm so glad that there's still hockey in Nashville. I actually do believe there's a bright future for this team.

Going to the game tonight. Making the drive down and yelling for all I am worth for my team because it is fun and something I can do with the whole family. I'm good with that!
