I don't think so... Bouwmeester was 4G / 12A // 16 Pts last year...
Pitkanen will be a year older and on a better team...

I think 8G / 24 A // 32 Pts is a reasonable estimate, optimistic but not farfetched...

Keep in mind if he makes the cut he'll see a lot of Power Play time thus getting him more points in the regular season. He has already accounted for two assists in as many games in the presason and i think he can top 40 in his first season in the NHL. He has all the qualities of a calder trophy winner and the potential to become a Norris candidate.
10 Goals and 32 assists for 42 points.

20-30 is a fair guess. He's in a position and has the supporting cast to produce 5 on 5 and on the PP.

42 points is goint to be a little high, good rookie forwards only get about 40 points or so.

I'll take 20-25 points and solid defense, he points will increase as he gets more familiar with the NHL game.

Kinda low prediction, John.
If he makes the club, which we all believe he will, and gets PP time, I think he'll be in the 30 point range.

He's got huge offensive upside, but he hasn't really even scratched his potential. It's unreasonable to believe that he'll come in and light it up. Remember, he only had 4G 15A 19P in 49 games last year in a strong, but obviously inferior league than the NHL. I say 30 points, 8G, 22A

That was in 2001-02. Last season he had 20 points in 35 games.

I think he could get anywhere from 25-30 points. I think that he is going to be more worried about being steady on defense more than putting up the points. Hitch's system has will be a factor in his offensive numbers also. Hitch will demand that he be solid in his own end before running wild in the offensive zone. I really can't wait to see him play for real.

BTW, is this Friday's game televised??

8 goals 10 assists. Gets PP time earlier in the season but less as the season goes on.

That low? I'm thinking more like Sergei Zubov numbers. I don't see why Pitkanen shouldn't be able to get 35 to 40 points this year. I think he's going to relish the chance at being on the top pairing and that Hitch will use this guy properly and not punish him for making rookie mistakes.

Not sold on him yet. I'm having some trouble believing that he can out produce KJ or Rico's point totals for last season.

Zubov had 55 points last season I think that's a bit of a reach for a rookie.

Has Hitch said he'd be on the top pair yet?

I doubt he'll be on the top pairing for regular shifts
