Ribeiro to Vancouver at the deadline

UFA at season's end, great stats on a bottom feeder team and the Canucks could use another center (Jordan Schroeder has been good but he's too small for the bottom 6 and not scoring enough for the top 6) and someone to help with the PP. What would the Caps want? I'd have to think that a lot of teams will be bidding for his services.

Same as what he got the last time he was traded. 2nd + B prospect, I'd presume.

I think his price will be inflated if there's a bidding war (and if he's available, there will be). We traded for him when the season was in jeopardy so it was a high-risk move.
I think 1st and prospect slightly worse than Eakin will be the price (considering how late your 1st is going to be). Anyway, if Ribeiro wants to stay in Washington, he won't be up for sale.

Don't want him, hate Ribeiro. Good player, but he's a me-first player and has a huge ego; would be more of a distraction than a benefit to this team.

I don't want nor see GMMG being interested in Ribeiro. MG isn't the type of GM to trade quality assets for rentals.

Something around Jensen or 1st+.

A center sitting at top 10 in the league in points will fetch something good at the deadline.

I dont want anything to do with Ribeiro. Surely there are other cards to be played before we go that route.

I doubt you'll find any Canucks fans who are willing to part with Jensen for Ribeiro.

Ok, we'll try another team.

2nd + Connauton does absolutely nothing for us.

Why would the Caps part with a player they just acquired and is playing well for them?

Because they're not going to make the playoffs and he will walk at season's end.

That's a pretty bold statement. They're only 4 points from being #1 in the SE Division.

Yes, huuuuuuge pass to a player who would be first in points on our team which often has difficulty scoring...

The Canucks already have hated players, adding one more won't change any dynamics. Ribeiro has talent, that's all I care about. Him and Lapierre chirping at the same time would also drive teams insane.

When healthy:

Sedin-Sedin-Burrows
Higgins-Ribeiro-Kesler
Raymond-Schroeder-Hansen
Booth-Lapierre-Kassian

*drool* Only problem with that lineup is there isn't a goon to keep things under control. But still while that isn't a traditional fourth line, there's some size on the wings.

I'd move up to a 1st this year conditional on how far Vancouver makes it in the playoffs, and a middling prospect like Yann Sauve.

we get enough calls from the refs as it is. Having Ribeiro would makes things unfair for the rest of the league.

pass to save NHL parity.

Agreed. I think they should get someone like this. The capitals have no reason to hold onto him once they've realized the season has gotten away from them.

Yeah, but but for some reason I have a feeling the Avs might offer all-star Ryan O'Byrne for him, and I don't think Washington could turn that offer down.

No GM will even consider anything worth equal value to Eakin + 2nd. Although Eakin has been amazing this season.
