Oilers at Columbus (Mar 5/2013)

So Hall is probably not playing.
Eberle is for some reason not skating. (benched or injury)

I expect another onslaught from the Jackets tomorrow.
We might get 25 shots. They get 40.

Discuss.

If Hall and Eberle aren't playing this game probably goes to Columbus.

Either way I won't be able to watch.

I'm glad to see Hemsky slotted in with Gagner and Paajarvii. Eberle was the squeaky wheel on that line last game, same with Hemsky on his line. I'm curious to see who's in the press box tomorrow with those lines and Brown coming in.

I want to see a Brown beat down on Dorsett tomorrow. This team hardly ever scraps, it's nice to see someone who is willing and able join the team.

Hemsky and RNH looked good together...so what do we do? Put Smyth in Hemsky's spot instead.

Oy vey.

Lets reward the kid a scratching after his best defensive game of the season... Krueger logic.

He's in CBJ already. Sounds like he has or is talking to media. Oiler doctors flying out to give him physical.

I really don't want to lose to this team team tomorrow.

A loss tomorrow and we're 2 points from the Western cellar (again) with Detroit and Nashville coming up.

Best quote from Smid

Tom Gazzola ‏@TomGazzola
Ladi Smid on what he knows about new teammate Mike Brown, "He beat me up, thank God I don't have to fight him anymore." Said while laughing.

Fistric has flown back to Edmonton to see Doctors, but I could've sworn the doctors were flying to see Brown. Must be a cut man back in Edmonton.

He of the -11, one of the worst in the league who has been beaten like a rented mule countless times this year? Oh , yeah.....he is doing all the 'heavy lifting' and covering up for Justin Schultz. J. Schultz is being held back if anything by the guy that does nothing well.

Yeah I wouldn't mind mixing up the D pairings either. I think Justin would fit better with a bigger D partner. Nick seems like he might be a little overworked, or overthinking having to cover for Justin. Time to take off the water wings and see if Justin can float on his own.

I love Smytty. I really do, but the guy is done. He should be absolutely no where near the first line, I don't think he should even be in the line up at all. Scratching Yakupov would be ridiculous. I'm hoping like before, the practice combos have nothing to do with the game combos. I guess we'll see soon enough.

Smytty can play good in spurts. He played a few good games again and then hasn't been good again. They should play him for three games and sit him for one or two. I think that's the most efficient way to play him, it'll keep him hungry and he won't run out of gas every few games. Just tell the players that there's enough depth now in the bottom 6 that if you play crappy you're in the press box.
