As for your comments on Wayne, they are meaningless because everything you say about the man is a fabrication... It always has been.
I never said it was ok. I was explaining to you why he didnt go to the podium because you wrote:

"Mario lemieux refusing to go to the podium because he didn't want to be drafted by Pittsburgh..."

Are you also a total minus over the last 12 years of your nursing career?

Clarke killed the franchise by trading Lindros ???

In case I missed something the Flyers were one goal from the Stanley Cup Finals last year.

Give me Johnsson, Kapanen and Brashear over the shell that is Eric Lindros any day of the week.

Grahm James

I'd didn't like how Uwe Krupp left the Avs. He was openly flirting with the Wings during the season and went to sleep in the playoffs. Both sides of Dog Sled Gate were pretty sleazy.

I believe with Lemieux he was quoted as saying at the time it was the contract they were going tooffer him, not the team.

Mike Keane did win another Cup after that signing, only it was with the Stars in '99. He's a member of an exclusive club of winning Cups with three different teams. Joe Nieuwendyk and Claude Lemieux are the only other two, who spring immediately to mind.

He almost got traded to back to the Avs too. Dallas picked him and Skrudland up at the deadline. THe Rangers learned their lesson and never signed another Avs role player again.

That was the year the Flyers went 12 minutes into a 5th overtime period against Pittsburgh before Primeau finally won it. That game lasted well into the night. I was having trouble keeping my eyes open through the intermissions. IIRC, fans were napping in the stands.

According to the Flyers, they left Ramsey in charge for the playoffs that year because they were concerned about Roger Neilson's health, having just undergone all the weeks and months of radiation, chemotherapy and general recovery.

Does anyone honestly believe that Roger could have stayed on the bench for that entire 6 hour game? If you ask me, leaving Ramsey as coach was not just the best decision, but the only decision they could have made for the good of the franchise and more importantly, for Neilson's health. The fact that a Hall of Fame coach like Roger never got another head coaching job before his unfortunate death indicates that the rest of the league agreed.

The circumstances surrounding Roger leaving the Flyers were unfortunate without a doubt. But classless is not the way I would describe it.

And of course Ruzicka still to come. They aren't as fun to watch as they were back in Eric's heyday, but I can't imagine they'd be very fun to watch right now if we were to reverse that trade either.

At his retirement press conference in Detroit, Dominik Hasek (never one to avoid controversy) proclaimed, "I will always be a Red Win!" This, after only one season, compared with nine in Buffalo.

So humor me how did he go after the US dollars - he had a twenty year contract with the Oilers, oh yeah I forgot that 15 millions doesn't constitute being sold, get you facts straight or is it just bitterness that he made your favorite team, which ever that is, his personal *****

The Hunter shot on Turgeon after he scored in the playoffs is definately a thoughtless one. And the way the players and coach handled it was no better. Here's an interesting quote from the Washington Post at the time.

"After the game, the Capitals closed their locker room to the media, a once-in-a-lifetime occurrence for this organization. Coach Terry Murray was nowhere to be seen. A few players wandered out and spoke softly in the crowded hallway, then disappeared. For a club that prides itself on public relations, it was a dismal moment. The measure of a team is how well it handles the toughest losses, and this one really frazzled the coach and the players.

It was ugly and messy and disgusting, all of it."
