Jarome Iginla
Mark Giordano

Chris Stewart
Ty Rattie
Ian Cole
2013 1st

St. Louis gets a long term, left handed, top pairing defenseman and added scoring punch. Iginla adds grit and leadership for a cup run. Calgary gets a young, RW, power forward, capable of 50 points, 2 good, young prospects and a late 1st for the rebuild

You probably couldn't get Oshie alone for both players.

How much just for Gio? I like Iggy but don't think we need more forwards when we get healthy.

Take out Chris Stewart and replace him with a 2nd round pick and I guess that is fair value.

A 1st and 2nd round pick for Iginla. I can't imagine a 35 year old that is an UFA in a few months gets a ton more.

Cole and Rattie for Giordano. Pretty solid. A young, replacement D-man to help on the 2nd pairing plus Sven Baertschi's favorite junior linemate and top notch prospect.

Actually I guess Stewart for Giordano straight up works.

A top pairing defenseman for a guy most Blue's fans were ready to dump a few months ago, is not fair value! What about Iggy and Gio for Stewart, Rattie, Cole + 2nd, assuming Stewart's worth about a mid-late 1st right now

The problem is that Stewart is back to being the good Chris Stewart. Even when he isn't getting points he is working his butt off, hitting, fighting, creating chances. He dropped 20 pounds in the offseason and understands Hitchcock's system.

Your assumption is wrong unfortunately.

He has looked a lot better this year, from what I've seen. Calgary would need a defenseman coming back and the Blues probably need a RW, how about Gio + Stempniak for Stewart, Cole + 2nd. I think Gio still has more value than Stewart

Too many 1st rounders going the other way. Rattie may as well be lumped into the same group

Really the Blues wont be a player for Iginla. Giordano is the player we would want so work out a trade around just Gio.

And once again we see Chris Stewar being underated...I will give you that last year he was not great and there were a lot of Blues fans advocating trading him...However I was never one of them...Stewart had 2 very good seasons and was a beast...Then last year he has a down year...However Stewart has played great this year so his value is not what it was last year.

I think after this year we will see that the prior season was just a fluke and the real Stewart is a 30+ goal scorer who has a mean steak in his game.

Something around Stewart for Gio would work however you are not going to get the Blues to kick in much more...And the mention that Stewarts value is that of a 1st and a 3rd is not true at all...I guarantee you if the Blues were shopping him other teams would certainly offer up more then a couple of draft picks.

This is fairly absurd. Where the Blues are relative to Giordano is Cole (roster replacement with upside) + very strong prospect (Rattie OR 1st). So that would mean the Blues would be paying Stewart + Rattie OR 1st for Iginla which is effing idiotic. No.

I ripped your original proposal but I would do this in a heartbeat.

Flames were ready to dump Bouwmeester a few months ago too. Values change.

Blues can't afford to trade Stewart. He provides toughness that they currently have to have and will need that in the playoffs. Perhaps replace Stewart with another forward. They get rid of Stewart, they may as well plan watching all their forwards get run. Very few on the team have shown the heart and soul on this team to stand up for their teammates. This Blues fan isn't interested. While Iginla is that kind of heart and soul player, I'm not paying that much for him. Stempniak will get run just like the rest of the forwards. Some other package for Gio will be needed to interest me. Rather see Perron go than Stewart.

I propose Gio for Cole, and a 2nd round pick in 2013.

Stempniak? We've been there and done that, and is no Chris Stewart just saying...

Cole is a former 1st rounder with upside and 2013 draft is deep. my proposal stands.
