Kings Hockey Card thread

Hi fellow Kings fans,

I've been collecting cards casually and hardcore off and on and the basis of my personal collection is mainly Kings cards, of course. I have a ton of other players as well but I'd love to post some cards of our beloved team as I find them in my collection or newly acquire them...plus I'd love to see other fans' cards as well. Not to sell or trade but just to show off here.

I would have thought this sort of thread would be obvious unless there's some sort of rule against it but I've never seen a thread like this in other team forums here on HF either.

Would you guys mind or like to see 'em?

Break them out. I would love to see all of them.

I haven't collected in years, and even a couple years ago, I got tired of tripping over/moving all the old ones I had. I ended up giving them to a neighbor kid and he loved them. Passed the hockey tradition on.

Well, lots of reads of this threads, one yes (and another in an unrelated thread) and no "no's"...so here goes.

First card of course is the 08-09 The Cup Black 1/1 parallel of Drew Doughty...the best card of his in the world...and I'm happy to say it resides in Los Angeles (as do all of my cards) where it belongs! Just turned down $3.5K for it this week.

Just picked this up during "the holdout..." I didn't care, I knew he was going to sign just as sure as he signed here on the left.

09-10 SP Authentic Sign Of The Times dual Doughty/Johnson

This is one of the 22 DT rookies I own (I had every intention of stopping at 18 but couldn't help myself).

Know what you mean...I used to hoard Luc Robitaille OPC RCs simply because I knew a guy who was willing to sell them to me for $20...this was when they were $50 before. Now they're $20 anyway lol.

I opened this one in 2009 when visiting Bakersfield...that card shop is gone now but I opened what's probably the best hockey card that was ever opened there. It made up for a weekend of me busting boxes there and getting a lot of redemption cards...expired ones.

This is from 05-06 BeeHive (the Crosby/Ovechkin rookie year). It's a rarer autographed /50 parallel of the Matted Materials jersey card set.

For Kings stuff, I have to work hard. It's easier for me to open money players like Crosby and Ovechkin than it is to open Kopitar or Doughty. When Doughty was a rookie, I opened 5 Stamkos for every 1 Doughty. It's easier evidently to open Gretzky cards than it is to get Doughty.

However, Brown, he's a player I get a lot of.

These cards are from the Trilogy set, usually you get one autographed (it can be single, dual or triple autographed) plexiglass card per $150 box. They are insanely gorgeous, hard-signed and relatively inexpensive.

Present it, sir! I've never seen his auto before.

I'm also going to put some ex-Kings autos too.

I have a Topps Gretzky rookie in good condition. The actual card is in great condition, but it's one that isn't centered perfect. What's it worth now? I haven't looked up the worth in about 10 years.

Unfortunately it's not worth anything because you haven't posted a pic of it in this thread. It might go up if you do though.

Unfortunately, it resides at my mom's house. I'll see if she'll take a pic of it for me.

I'll have to dig it out, it's in with my autographed Brett Hull rookie and my autographed Tom Laidlaw rookie cards.

This is numbered out of 10.

My 04-05 In The Game Franchises Kings collection

It's been so long since I bought anything the only player I collected still on the Kings is Dustin Brown. Got all of Frolov's best rookie cards, got a few Cammalleri and O'Sullivan. Tons of Marcel Dionne autograph and memorabilia cards and a few of Dave Taylor and Rogie Vachon.

Got 2 Kopitar Upper Deck Young Gun rookies and an oversized card from 07-08 Upper Deck called Rookie Class. The last Beckett I have is from November 2007 so I have no idea how much these things are worth anymore.

If anybody is interested in buying anything on the cheap let me know.

Havent bought cards in a while but do have a few Deadmarsh autos from his WHL days, a Lehoux auto and a few others. Have to say the pride of my collection is an UD Iginla 5/5 auto reissue rookie card and a Gump Worsley GU auto 12/25.

Wow, lots of nice cards...best thing about this thread is that a lot of people who normally just read but don't post are posting here.

I love the Kopitar National card, looks beautiful, your first Doughty one labeled is quite nice too!
