Goligoski to play in Frozen Four?

USCHO/CSTV did an online chat with Minnesota head coach Don Lucia earlier today and according to what he said in the transcript, Alex could be playing in the Frozen Four game versus North Dakota on April 7th.

If indeed he does play, that'll be very good news for Minnesota and of course, you Pens fans.

I thought he was injured with wrist problems or something along those lines? Is that not true?

Great news, thanks OC. Playing in big games like this is great for his development. I'm hoping that his wrist won't be a hindrance to his PP work and puck movement. Also coming back early from injury to play in a big game tells alot about his character. Just another plus for Goli.

Happy to hear him back in the lineup. But I hope his wrist is ok, I'd rather he take the time off now rather than risk another injury too his wrist. That could come back and hunt him in the future. Cause you don't wanna mess with your wrists man.

I've got a nasty story about my wrist and a skateboard.

I'm hoping the team's training staff came to the conclusion that no more damage can be done, but you really never know.

Awesome. Anything to get to see Goligoski again. I saw him twice this year and to say I was impressed both times is a drastic understatement.

Always great when every time an announcer says a player's name it's preceded by "another great play by."

Well it's not definite and if you go back and read the transcript of what Coach Lucia had to say, he'll be a game time decision.

We can all hope he'll be able to go.

In '92 when Graves slashed Lemieux in the playoffs and broke his wrist, Lemieux was back in only two weeks. Every injury is different, but if Goligoski is coming back it's probably because the risks are acceptibly small (and as was mentioned, also because he may have good character).

As long as he can get a good grip of his stick, he should be fine to play. I'd assume he'll be wearing some kind of padding/strapping around the wrist to protect himself.
