They are somewhat comparable; they both are ok skaters but still need work on their acceleration.

You are right. I heard this on team1200 a while back too. They said he wasn't playing as aggressive and crash and bang style as much because of this. And that a lot of it is in your head and it takes time for you to feel comfortable going hard in the corners. I remember this for sure.

Lots, not no less than siilf. He's smarter though. It's probably not gonna be an issue although some ppl will focus on it too much

I'm feeling a lot of homer prospect hype for Stone, Silf, and Zibanejad right now. I bet that each of them will have their shining moments this season. Zibanejad's already looking more confident and aggressive on the forecheck. Silf had those shots off the posts a month ago, and I expect him to find a bit more room to take shots soon. Now Stone hopefully has a couple of months to work on his timing.

Look out next season.

This.

In the HF world (nobody in particular) you can tell a lot of people form their opinions strictly off of what they read on TSN and it's set in stone (no pun intended).

Stone has had skating problems in the past. However, I don't believe it will hold him back at all. Great hands, great shot, great hockey IQ. He's gonna be a great player for the Sens and especially their powerplay.

Is Stone the only one of them that is eligible for the Calder next year?

Let's just say he's a notch below average in the skating department and leave it at that. TSN and whoever else are equally aware of his hockey sense.

I see him being more of a playmaker at the NHL level, with a specialty for empty netters.

When he was in Ottawa, at his best Dany Heatley did everything except skate well: when we had all the injuries in 2007 he basically put the team on his back and carried it

From a French-Canadian source, the practice lines are:

Michalek – Turris - Alfredsson
Greening - Smith - Neil
Dziurzynski – Zibanejad - Condra
Stone – Regin - Silfverberg

Methot - Gryba
Wiercioch - Gonchar
Phillips - Benoit

Though I would bet Stone gets some good PP time.

I am a huge Stone homer, but I think hes gonna stick the rest of the year. I think he would even do fine on the 4th with O'Brien (he is our best healthy goal scorer lol…)
You can say it.. Nobody will be mad here.. "I'm a Stoner".. Lot's of us are I'm sure..

JOB and Wiercioch shouldn't be scratched ever again.

Hmm, which line would you call the "2nd line?" Though MacLean tends to break the 1-2-3-4 template, so it's a moot point.

I don't know about ever again, but JOB definentely shouldn't be getting scratched for Dizzy. Maybe with a full healthy roster he could get scratched here and there, but hes played really well this year.

Interesting 65 mins before this thread started i posted a new thread called Mark Stone recalled, within a minute it was merged with this thread http://hfboards.hockeysfuture.com/sh...1365269&page=4

So why has this thread been allowed to be independent?

This is 100% true.

It does frustrate me sometimes when people say 'Stone needs to EARN his spot on the Sens line-up'. I agree with this everyone needs to earn a spot and shouldnt just expect to get one), however he has done as much as Silf and Zbad and at this point does deserve a shot. His skating is a thing of the past, and though it's not perfect it's more than good enough for the NHL.

He had a great game against the Rags in game 5 last year, and I think could add a great spark to the club.

Silfverberg can (prefers) to play the LW and Stone the RW. What would MacLean see that would have him slot the on their weaker sides? Never quite understand this.

Wow guys. Stone is not a blue chip prospect. Don't get your expectations too high.

Silfverberg plays the LW when he's with Alfie, or another senior RW.

He actually is a RW, so Stone moves to accomodate him.
