Why wasn't Andre Benoit drafted? Is he slow? There must be some reason why a defenseman who can score was not even taken in a late round. Danny Groulx is supposed to be a lousy skater and that is what is keeping him out of the NHL, yet he has been able to play in the AHL, but probably won't ever make it big.

Derrick Walser is small, but I still could not believe he went undrafted. Now he is playing in the NHL and doing quite well IMO.

Any help on Benoit would be much appreciated. Thanks!!!

Andre Benoit was in the Leafs rookie camp, and looked good from the reports I read. The Leafs cut him just so he could suit up for the Rangers season opener, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Leafs {Barry Trapp in particular} are keeping an eye on him this season.

Benoit's supposed to be a pretty good 2-way d-man who skates well {from what I've read}, but I don't have a clue why he wasn't drafted.
