We already have a decent amount of cap space since Malhotra is done for the season.

I'd move Ballard+ for a defensive upgrade (Visnovsky) or a forward like Jussi Jokinen.

But it leaves us with Alberts or Barker in our top 6 and the other being first call up. Yuck.

That's true.

Besides, Gilman will always find a way

Something around...

Ballard + Alberts
for
Slater + Hainsey

Alberts is to try and balance cap hits, but it might not be enough. Hainsey is a UFA who Ballard would slot in place of for 1 season. Slater could work next year whether Lapierre walks or not. Close?

I'd prefer to trade Ballard for a right handed PP specialist type depth Dman and a minor league LH center who can fill a 4th line role

I think Antro would be a good pick up just for the fact on the PP it would give us a real big body who is experienced. Though I think we need someone a little better in the dot. Vancouver really lacks a LH center to play 4th maybe sometime 3rd line minutes and be 50-55% in the dot. Also be able to fill 2nd/3rd PK unit

No he wouldn't. Would far rather either in our top 6.

I agree, and I also would be interested in sending him to WPG, but it likely wont work out.
