Foligno would be a great player to have. Good offensive depth guy and tough to play against. Perfect 3rd liner.
I'd trade Moen and a 3rd. Don't know if that would get it done. The value seems pretty equal but it depends on CLB's view of Moen. I'd bump the 3rd to a 2nd if CLB threw in a late round pick. 5th or 6th. The latter is probably more likely. Foligno also fits Bergevin's desire for non rental players. He could be a great member of the team for a while.

word on the street now is that perry is going to command 9 to 10 million dollars....i remember weeks ago building a cap geek team that had him on it for 7....and I was skeptical at that point but built the team around it anyway and it worked.....than getzlaf sigined for 8.25 and i figured..ok perry's gonna want the same and built a team around him on capgeek again and it worked....but this is just ********....there's no getzlaf here...and there's nothing for me to indicate that he's gonna reach 50 again which is what he should be putting up on a yearly basis to command those kind of dollars....he wants to be the highest paid guy out there basically....its nuts...he's not worth it....i would bank on pacioretty haing just as many goals as perry next year and at half the price

Only 5 teams are represented today. And only two from the East.

Foligno playing with Eller and Galchenyuk on the "third" line would be great. Or even with Pleks and Bourque, it would be a pretty solid addition. But if we get him and Bourque comes back, who do we bump to the 4th line? Prust? The guy has been way more than a 4th liner for the whole season. Gionta? He's the captain so I doubt it. And I don't see any other guy that could be demoted to the 4th.

That would be a very nice problem to have

Boll with Prust and White would be a hell of a 4th line against the likes of Boston and Toronto.

No thanks to Nick Folingo.

Jared Boll on the other hand, yes please. Here's a guy who can really help Prust, and he's only 26 years old. He's rumbled with just about everyone so far in his career, from Lucic to Parros, and more recently, Patrick Bordeleau. He can also play hockey, as he's put up decent offensive numbers in the OHL. 1G 3A +3 so far this season.

Do it Marc Bergevin!

Just trade Ryder and a pick for Boll and Foligno.

Been watching Foligno closely this afternoon. I really wouldn't mind if we got him. He's clever but hard to play against, and looks like he's hard to beat along the boards. He also looks effective at screening the goalie.

Would be fine with me. But we don't really know yet how Bergevin feels about trading a player really shortly after getting him.

Why do people think MB will trade Ryder? They just got him. I highly doubt they flip him that quick.

Where do you play him ? On lw ? He is useless on that side.

Prust took his job with Eller and Galchenyuk. And I doubt MT will move Gallagher and Gionta from their rw spots too.

He's also familiar with the division, which can't be understated considering our struggles inside of it at times.

He's under contract for 2 more years and only 25. Would fit in with what LeBrun wrote.

Why would Columbus trade him ? And for what return if they do?

To save $ and build a more logical team. He's making 3 M and 3.75 M in his final 2 years. This is a team already paying a lot to similar wingers like Dubinsky and Umberger.

My guess is the value would be around a 2nd.

My scouting report on Foligno. I obviously knew the player but really watched him closely this afternoon to confirm some opinions I had on his game.

The positives:
+ Consistently going to the net.
+ Clever player to screen the goalie and get the puck back behind the d-men.
+ Is a power forward per definition, but still, not the kind of puck carrier Cole was. He's a give-and-go player. Could work really well with Plek's and Gionta's patented slapper from the high-slot.
+ Will not take crap after the whistles.
+ Impressive fighter when he needs to. Holds his own against Brookbank and beats Phaneuf in fights.
+ Can play on the PK at some extent. Effective to block shots from what I saw this afternoon.
+ His forechecking skills are amazing. Active stick and follows through with the body.

The negatives:
- Not the best to handle the puck for extended periods of time.
- Has the tendency to extend his shifts.
- Has the kind of game that will always make you want more, still, like I said, he's a good player within his limitations.
- Is the kind of player to go through slumps. Irregular in his offensive production, but in his overall play, what you see is what you get.

Looks like the Boll obsession surpassed the Bordeleau obsession.

For Foligno? We'd be lucky to have one of our 3 2nd rounders developing into a 45 points, hard to play against power forward.

If we give one of our first 3 rounds draft picks, Foligno is the kind of player I'd like to get. Young, fitting in this team on the long term, has some years remaining on his contract and can play anywhere in the top-9.

You really think CBJ is going to just trade Foligno for a 3rd or less?

I challenge you to even write 3 sentences to describe Boll's play, before actually putting him in the same category as Bordeleau.

This. Seriously, I love the draft, but you can't overate picks either. A 2nd for Foligno would be more than fair.
