That, plus the fact that he's actually young enough to belong on this team on the long-term.

Well, no, but we have found a lot of gems in the second round. I dunno, guess it's just me but I would keep every second for this year's draft unless we can flip them for an other first.

Does Foligno project to be anything more than a 3rd liner?

I'm not very familiar with Boll and his style of play but since you seem to know him quite well I'd appreciate 3 sentences from you describing his play.

He had 47 points last year, so I think he could be a 2nd liner.

That's what he was in Ottawa behind Michalek.

Will fight anyone at any time.
Surprisingly quick and effective on the forecheck for that reason because of his speed.
Will not be completely useless in the offensive zone.
Will run the net everytime he's got a chance.
Good leader and apparently good in the lockerroom.

He's nowhere near the world of a Patrick Bordeleau, who, in my opinion, is a fighter above everything else. Boll's biggest quality still is his nasty streak and physical game, that being said, he's still a very decent player and good for 10+ minutes every game.

Kind of a dealbreaker too.

I probably still wouldn't throw a second at him. But if we have have him for someone like Weber then by all means.

If we put our hands on him, you'd look at something like this for next year:

Pacioretty - Desharnais - Gallagher
Bourque - Plekanec - Gionta
Foligno - Eller - Galchenyuk
Prust - Dumont/White - Moen

No big names, still a lot of depth and scoring spread through all of the lineup. Then again, ideally, you get an HW or an aggressive player like Boll and you take White or Moen out of the lineup to make room for him.

So replace two of our tough players with other tough players, yeah....

Yes, Moen and White are definitely playing a tough game this year... Not.

Sounds good.. I could handle having both Prust and Boll on the Habs.

I could too. Both of these guys would really take a lot of weight off one another's shoulders.

Moen has always needed to have a kick in the ass to start playing, if you remember. Just wait for a big game or even in the playoffs this guy will be one of our best players. White always plays on the edge, look at how he started the season. Now he's toned it down, and for good reason, but still gritty and effective. I don't see what the point is to replace one of these guys with Boll.

Armstrong, on the other hand...

Boll is head and shoulder above these two guys in terms of toughness. TO and Boston would tbink twice before mugging our smaller players.

I'd love to get both Foligno and Boll and ice this lineup next year:

Bourque - Plekanec - Gionta
Pacioretty - Desharnais - Gallagher
Galchenyuk - Eller - Foligno
Boll - White - Prust

Gorges - Subban
Markov - Emelin
Diaz - Tinordi

Price

Not sure on what to give up or fitting both in lineup this year though.

Moen (in theory) could be a good acquisition for Columbus. Veteran leader, relatively cheap contract, could provide decent grit and chip in here and there (when motivated). Rebuilds could use a guy like him, but whether or not Columbus goes for something like that has yet to be seen.

In this division you just can't put all of the pressure on the shoulders of Prust to fight against other teams' nutcases. You need another guy. Prust will end up injuring himself. He's the only guy the other team thinks about when they think about Montreal's toughness. From now on, he'll get hit twice as much and challenged twice as much, because he's THE only guy that does it.

I don't care about whether or not Moen shows up later, to me, he didn't show up the two games his team needed him the most: Toronto and Boston. He's just dead to me ever since the Boston game ended. It was a pathetic display and a real disgrace to watch. The guy can't pick the good timing for a fight neither, as both of his fights resulted in the other team erasing deficits. He's a *******. That's how low he dropped to me. That's just unforgiveable to have done what he did, two times, against divisional rivals.

White on the other hand, I think is too dumb to even learn the difference between being over and under aggressive.

Plus, Jarred Boll is actually as good, if not even better than both of these guys.

I see your point of view, but you are saying this out of pure emotion as well. Why isn't some of that anger directed to Armstrong? He's been bat**** useless all season.

I don't want to re-sign him neither. Then again, he's got an excuse to be terrible at dropping the gloves and making the other team pay for taking liberties.

Moen has every tool you need to do that. He's done it before. And this year, he has completely abandonned his team. To me, that is unforgiveable. I had enough after the Toronto game, but the Boston game was just too much. It's going to take a lot from him for me to get over it.

There's a huge difference between considering a player would be useful for our team and describing his game on HFBoards - a hockey board - and glorifying him.
