I'll be surprised if we score more than 2 goals. The streak isn't breaking tonight.

Tonight is a streak breaker with $'$$ in God mode and Sacco as Napoleon, or a huge blow out.

Even if we do win a game against the Hawks it isn't gonna be in regulation, not unless Varly turns into Roy.

Avs twitter leaking out why we are so bad:

Colorado Avalanche ‏@Avalanche
Ryan O'Byrne is the only Avalanche defenseman to appear in every game this season.

Colorado Avalanche ‏@Avalanche
Matt Hunwick leads the team in shifts-per-game (29.1) and ranks third in average ice time (21:07). He is a +4 this season. #GoAvsGo

O'Reilly is going to score 3 goals against Varly and 4 goals against whoever Chicago plays. Then, after Kane dekes Varly out of his jockstrap with 4 minutes to go on a penalty shot where Hunwick throws his stick from the bench to try and stop him from scoring on a breakaway, Bordeleau will come out with a superman cape on and punch the puck through the Chicago net to win the game with 2 seconds to go because Sacco always puts out his best players in the dying seconds of a tie game.

EJ will be watching this game from the press box and the puck will continue to travel through the boards, richocet off something and re-concuss him. Wilson will be too busy laughing to catch himself from falling over and re-injuring himself landing on top of Hejduk who bent over to pick up a penny from the ground that Sacco left behind while he was counting all the money the Avs give him for being our coach.

And then BOOM enough injuries pile up that we are forced to dress Sacco to become a first line winger.

If he sucks, will he be in his own doghouse?

Absolutely not, he would be too busy starting himself in offensive zone faceoffs.

I am not nearly as optimistic as most here. I don't see any way we beat them tonight. Friday night, maybe.

6-1 Hawks.

I say we have a chance to win and that "chance" is Varlamov pulling St. Patrick's Day against the Hawks.

Toews gets concussed and scores on his own net 10 times.

11-10 Hawks.

Wishful thinking. I dont think Sacco ever gets fired. His contract will expire and MAYBE then we will get a new coach

I'm not a fan of Mitchell as a winger. He doesn't have the smarts or skills to play any kind of give and go game effectively.

O'Reilly fed pucks to both Palushaj and Mitchell coming through the neutral zone with speed and the play pretty much always dies. At the blue line or them deciding to do a low percentage dump and chase.

I'd like a small shakeup and see how it works.

Olver - Duchene - Parenteau
Landeskog - Stastny - Jones
McGinn - O'Reilly - Kobasew
McLeod - Mitchell - Bordeleau

I don't like Olver as a center. He's not that good at faceoffs and a bit too light to handle the job defensively.

I don't know if anyone posted this but they have some questions up on the NHL network site that Landeskog answered.

Your team plays Tuesday in Detroit and Chicago plays Tuesday at home against Minnesota, but let's look ahead for a minute here: Does it matter to you if the Blackhawks still have their streak going when you play them Wednesday at United Center or are you hoping they at least get a point against the Wild to keep it alive so you can be the next team to try to snap it?

"Absolutely, it matters. I remember asking Paul Stastny early in the season, 'When do we play Chicago?' Chicago was maybe 5-0 and people were already talking a little about the streak. Now there is only one more game in between and then it's up to us and we could have a chance to end that streak. To be honest, I want them to win Tuesday night and we want to be the team that goes in there and puts an end to that.

"But streak or not, it doesn't really matter because we're in a spot where we have to take two points. They're extremely hot right now and we want to put an end to it, but bottom line is we want to get those two points."

McNab made it sounds like Hejduk would play tonight, and that it was planned all along he would sit out one of the back to back games.

I wouldn't switch Staz and ROR yet. IMO, Staz has been working harder that ROR, so he should get the 2nd line duties.

For today's Avatar challenge I shall give it to the poster who has the post during game time that makes me laugh the most. If I don't see it... TOO BAD.
