It's painfully obvious he's not talking about the POWER PLAY goal.
It also should be painfully obvious that Kunitz is 4th in the NHL in scoring. Yes, Crosby has a lot to do with that, but so does Kunitz himself.
Defense is the problem with this team, not scoring. The Penguins never seem to be able to clear traffic out of their own goal crease. It doesn't help that they also think they can score like the 80's Oilers.
Ya im pretty sure those 2 things arent the same as Fleury not being good enough.
It's the same because they're all untrue. Fleury's been great all year, I'm sorry if one period and one playoff series is not enough to convince most of us otherwise.
Our PK has been unbelievably bad against them the past 2 seasons. And yet we still give Giroux all the space he wants until he finds an open cross-ice pass.
Maybe DB will get fired if we lose by like 7.
Well, what would be interesting, in a game like this, is if DB said to himself next PK 'we're getting our ***** kicked, let's see how Sid and Geno look together on a PK'.
Yeah, I know, may as well say it would be interesting if I won the lottery.
Someone in the dressing room needs to stand up and make it known that this isn't acceptable but I suspect Dan will get them a pat on the back and an unlucky followed by a day off tomorrow.
And Oprik will bash the team via the media. You can book it.
As frustrating as it is to see this stupidity game after game versus Philly, they're really the only team we act like this with. And they stink against everyone else.
They're the rock to our scissors.
Lost in the Pens getting pulled from their game by the whole Philly goon culture each time we play them is the same old same old of Philly taking Bylsma's game away and him not adjusting. It really is something that has gone from mind boggling to coaching malpractice at this point. And far more than the whole thug thing is the reason that the Pens are losing this, and many other, games, and why I have little hopes for the playoffs.
I think were being a tad too hard on Fleury.
2 goals went in off Martin's stick. One changed direction 3 times. Engo had a perfect screen on another and he didn't pick up Rinaldo on another one.
It was a nice microcosm of his career.
Makes a couple of big saves - which I'll remind everyone that's what goalies are paid for - then allows a couple of laughers.
Neal's pissing me off, and it hardly has anything to do with his penalties.
Perfect description of a "blunt instrument"
But, I've been saying this all year. For the **** Sid has had to work with, Malkin has been playing PK at even strength all year. Seeing how much better he looks with zone time tonight . . . I'm giving the assist where it's due: Beau Bennett.
Hey Bylsma, why don't we play a cycle game against a team that puts 3 of their players on the boards to intercept the puck?
He Bylsma, why don't we play a passive defense/no forecheck game against a team that is one of the best passing teams in the league? Let's give them all of the time and space that they want.
These are recipes for disaster. But he sticks with the same gameplan against this team every time we play them. I just don't understand.
And Neal taking the dumb penalties. Make him sit next time we play these buffoons.
By the way, one huge plus is Bennett. Love the fact he doesn't get caught up in the mind games either.
He's a rookie, he can't afford to get into the dog house like an established star NHLer (James Neal). I say it's smart. If anyone's going to sit, it would be him and he probably knows it. Certain players can get away with it, because they have a fat paycheque and the numbers behind them.
Bylsma lost this team after the playoffs and Shero should have seen this. Bringing him back and his staff was a poor decision by Shero. When exactly will Mario come to realize the team is on cruise control.
