What's more GUTLESS?

My buddy and I are having a big debate that stems from the McLaren vs. Dzrisnkhoweveryurspell it fight from last night.

What's more gutless?

a) That McLaren challenged a guy not in his weight class.

or

b) That Dz initially said no to the fight, then still dropped the gloves anyways immediately after.

Your thoughts?

There is no weight class. If you drop the gloves, it's your own fault what happens to you.

This.

If you drop the gloves vs a bigger guy, you deserve what you get.....unless you are Gabriel Dumont

Nobody knows what was really said between the 2 players.... Zack Smith said that McLaren kept asking him to fight... Im sure many guys have said no the first 1...2...3 times then just said "ok"... DD prob thought he would be able to hang on and actually landed a solid shot or 2... just got KO'd by a wide open shot...

Nothing gutless either way... DD didnt have to fight, McLaren didnt jump him... and nobody knows what was said between the 2...

Bingo. If you're stupid enough to tangle with someone who's way out of your league, you deserve everything you get.

Gutless is Dustin Penner skating up behind Brendan Smith and giving him a hard elbow to the head while the puck is 50 feet away.

As a twist how about what is courageous?

I remember when I worked on my book "The Forgotten Summit" Rick Smith told me how intimidated some of his Fighting Saint teamates were when they couldn't intimidate Anders Hedberg, and Ulf Nilsson of Winnipeg. The Fighting Saints would punch them, spear them, threaten them, etc. And they would end up with the penalties and the Jets would score. Smith who is a very cerebral man - very soft spoken and articulate said "it was very intimidating for our guys to watch someone simply shake their head in disgust and yes pity when we tried to scare them and get them to fight. Then while we were short handed they'd score and beat us."

It takes a very strong person to not respond when provoked. Maybe the ones who do respond are "gutless"?

Just a thought.

Peace,

Craig Wallace

How is B even gutless? It's him changing his mind, wanting to make a statement. Not like he jumped McLaren, they were both prepared to scrap.

I don't see how "gutless" is involved in this situation at all.

Gutless does not apply. Challenge sent, challenge accepted. No issues.

As others have said, nothing gutless about it. For some reason, DD thought he could go with McLaren and got KO'd.

According to this Feschuk article this morning apparently it was Dziurzynski who challenged McLaren.

http://www.thestar.com/sports/leafs/...d_feschuk.html

Quote:
Smith said Dziurzynski challenged McLaren to the fight. McLaren, who went to the dressing room after it was over to get eight stitches in a cut from one of Dziurzynski’s punch’s, said he was attempting to provide his team with a spark.

It's all on you if you drop the gloves and square off.

Unless your name is Milan Lucic, then your a spot picking, gutless, p**** or whatever people like to call you.

Basically any fighter in the NHL it's all good to go unless your #17 in the black and gold.

(I'm being sarcastic, haha)

You never, ever refers to a single NHL player who dropped his gloves as "gutless". It takes more guts than you'll propably ever have.
This thread should be closed.
