Seems like a bunch of unnecessary steps to have to deal with while traveling, when traveling alone can be stressful enough. Then again, I'm an absolute dick to travel with when airports are involved. Only way I can travel comfortably is when we go first class, but obviously that's not realistic on a regular basis.

Like a couple weeks ago, date night with the woman go out to a really nice Italian place for a nice dinner just the two of us. Place is kind of small, crowded lanes between the tables and booths. Some jackass is letting his 3 and 4 year old kids run around the entire restaurant screaming. I didn't say anything to him, but told the manager it was ridiculous and he needs to stop watching it and do something about it. One of the little kids bumped my elbow and nearly made me spill my drink. I thought that was rather ridiculous. The parents just let them play tag throughout the entire place for like 10 minutes. At one point one kid tried to hide under our table.
Honestly, that's not right.

I had an incident as an infant. Let's just say that I was screaming that I wanted juice and that the way I was pronouncing "juice" made me sound anti-Semitic.

Other than that, I think most things went pretty smoothly.

The "funny" thing is, we only went back there because they were comping our dinner because of how bad our last experience there was, but that was because the kitchen put out terrible food. Needless to say, we won't be back.

Would never walk out, though. A lot of times that means the server is stuck with your bill if you stiff the restaurant.

Well then I'd just leave some money to cover what i'd had already and leave. No way would I sit through that without blowing up.

Blows my mind any sensible adult would let their kid act that way. I know they're going to get out of their grasp from time to time and take off, no issues with that, that's what kids do. Wanted to smack the dad upside the head that night, though.

Why bring your kids to a nice restaurant if they will act like that?

There's nothing common about common sense these days, and people don't know how to raise kids anymore. Chivalry and manners have slowly been going out the window as the years have gone on. The kids don't know that they are acting wrong since they were never taught the proper way to act in general and especially in a public setting.

Tell me about it. If I'm paying $10-15 a drink, an app for $10-15, and $25-30 a plate... I should have to deal with **** like that. Absolute joke.

Drunk trip to Denny's after the Fire game last night is proving to be a mistake this morning...

Was looking at my bank account and found the Stubhub charged me $66.30 on Friday for I don't know what. Haven't ordered from there in months. Just called to hopefully get this straightened out.

Went outside to my car today to find it a had a boot on it, compliments of the City of Chicago. In calling and looking through old mail looks like I had a couple letters from there that got lost in the shuffle for a couple of tickets that were way overdue and now bit me in the ass. One was for being parked on the street for street sweeping and subsequently a tinted window violation. I live at the end of a dead-end and all trees that signs are posted on are down further the opposite way, girlfriend parks in the garage. Never saw the sign, had been out of town so I never moved and never saw sign posted because I wasn't ever down the block to see the trees. Then dinged me for windows being too dark just for kicks. Long story short, have a ridiculous amount of fine to pay to get the boot removed that I don't have. Happy early birthday to me.

So, if anyone's looking to get me a gift, well, contributing to the "Get Blue Liner's Car Back Fund" is more than appreciated!

Ugh.

Can you just take the tire off and buy, put the spare on, and buy a new spare? Not exactly sure how those boots are set up, though...

Any kind of tampering can lead to all sorts of other BS.

No, you can't access the lugnuts. You can do it with bolt cutters and a couple other tools but the boot will be damaged in the process.

Yeah, but, it wasn't you that did it. It must have been Batman.

In the words of Eddie O, "to all you young bill-payers out there, stop it right here...keep your letters organized or you get bit in the ass."

Got my Esposito jersey in today. A little disappointed it was a replica jersey, but I did expect that.

fwiw...the alomar jersey i wore as a young un in the early 90s doesn't fit anymore but i still have it stuffed in my closet. maybe you'll look back later at your hawks jerseys w/ fondness?

my work life sucks right now...i'm apparently back on the "asia run"...which means potentially going toronto/hong kong or toronto/shanghai or beijing twice a month - or in really bad times 3x a mos (keep in mind it's approx 15 hrs each way). i've had to do that before - and almost quit b/c i couldn't take it - but got promoted and was supposed to be permanently in toronto in a director role. but that role has lead to them trying to shove me back on to an "inter office" asia shuttle

...i celebrated my supposed "permanent toronto" job by getting centre ice. that might not work much longer.

...and even worse...the bad news caused me to split from 2+ month break from smoking. fml.
