I think they need to try and trade him for a centre. Not sure if that's possible considering he's scored 1 goal in the last 23 games, including none this season. But he's not doing anything Jensen can't do in the NHL. Jensen can eat 3rd line winger mins, and probably pitch in a goal or two for 1/4 the cost.

Kesler was clowned by inferior players. His 3 points were fools gold, losing to the cup champs doesn't make it any smoother.

His points dont count, and losing to the team that won the cup isnt acceptable.

Is Jensen in Chicago yet?

lol what are you arguing here? that you we're pleased with his play?

He was brutal, this isn't really a bold opinion. The biggest gap between potential and actual play, was his.

Edler scored 2 goals, still was by far the worst player that series.

I like the fact that Booth is trying everything to get a goal, which we need. But, he hardly passes and when he does it's not a good one. I don't know whether he will try to pass more when he gets a goal but right now he just looks like he's shooting when nothing is there.

Just take solace in the fact that as the season winds down, we'll have to see less of this overrated dead weight bringing the rest of the team down. Hopefully he's gone in the offseason, if not the trade deadline.

ie the definition of a player that tries to play like a top 6 forward, but lacks the talent.

I missed the game, did Booth try really hard? Because for 4.2 million that's all I ask for.

He did. He cant pass worth crap and he doesnt score on his net drives. I am sure he will start scoring but I would prefer he works on his on ice vision and using his line mates.

Honestly, he would have to step in a time machine and go back to his youth to learn those things. Players don't pick up hockey sense when they're almost 30. He'll always have his head down and he'll never be anything close to an average play maker.

I personally think he's going to break out pretty soon. He used his speed to get around guys then his size to drive to the net. Didn't pot one, but I think he will if he keeps playing like this.

I agree he needs to keep his head up and start playing with his line mates. I'm surprised he hasn't been put with Schroeder more.

My biggest annoyance with the Canucks / AV is the constant line-changing.

In a league where chemistry and knowing what your linemates are doing is huge, there's such a huge lack of putting guys together, keeping them together and letting them learn how to play with each other.

I think if Booth was put consistently with the same guys, barring injuries it would do wonders for all aspects of the game, especially scoring.

I mean, lookit the Sedins.

The point is that Booth hasn't been meeting expectations for production for 5 years now, despite being in the prime of his career and having ample opportunity.

Since 2009:

180 GP, 47 Goals, 39 Assists, 86 PTS

Sorry, but that is not 2nd line production.

It's like I'm watching an entirely different player then you guys, because I see him creating chances that so far he and his linemates have not been able to finish. The points will come, we need to be patient. Trading him now would be horrible asset management and would make me question Gillis' decision making. His value is so low right now that we wouldnt get anything useful.

I think Booth's style is the embodiment of the issues that plague most of our forward group; strong north to south game with no creativity or puck control to create any hint of east to west flare in the offensive zone.

I like the positive attitude, it's breath of fresh air around here. BUT, at some point you have to start calling a spade a spade.

Booth is actually the one that hasn't been able to finish his linemates' chances, whiffing on several opportunities, and when he tries to do something himself, his linemates never get the chance to do anything because Booth will usually just end up shoveling the puck into the goalie's chest, ending the play.

I'm still holding out some hope because he's only played 7 games or whatever it is, but unless he starts converting the tap ins that he's been missing, or unless he does something different than his skate down the wing-cut into the middle-shovel the puck into the goalie's chest routine, he's going to get a lot of flack on these boards for his lack of productivity relative to his salary.

And rightfully so.

I'm not a Booth hater by any means, but for $4.25M we need to see some scoring. He hasn't provided that.

Never been much of a Booth fan and have expressed my dislike for him for a while on here.
That being said, he deserves until the off season to prove himself and that he's worth his contract. Otherwise, package him with other valuable assets for an upgrade in the top 6 during the off season.

I'm not writing him off yet - especially seeing as he's been one of our best skaters for the last three games, and has generated a ton of chances. But he does need to start converting.
