Grigorenko

Would Buffalo consider trading Grigorenko if the price was right?

Despite what some may say, I still think he was a steal at 12th overall.
His position in the draft was clearly affected by his mono ridden playoff performance.

Edmonton had expressed interest in him at the draft. And if they hadn't taken the BPA they may have even taken him over Murray.

"It would be amazing (to be picked by the Oilers)," he said with a wide, ear-to-ear grin as others looked on at Arrivals D at EIA. "I want to play in the NHL with any team, because it's a great league and all 30 teams are amazing. But in Edmonton, I see all the young guys that are playing in their first years, so it's nice for me to know that if I get drafted by Edmonton, I'll have a chance to play next year. I'm really looking forward to it -Grigorenko

He wasn't NHL ready yet, but there is no way Buffalo gives up on him yet.

Nope. Buffalo has high hopes for this kid. Regier indicated he was the Sabre's no. 1 target on draft day. Absolutely no reason for them to give him up.

This is the correct answer. Rare skillset unlike anything else currently in Buffalo's system. He will be a central piece of the youth movement going forward in Buffalo, despite his present struggles as the youngest player in the league.

What is the "right price"? Edmonton plan on winning the draft lotto again? Because he'd be all yours

Short of a team giving up a top-3 pick this year, he's not being moved.

In other words, he's not being moved.

Way too early to give up on a player like him. He needs more time on junior, he'll be back next year.

Actually more time in juniors actually deosnt help him....

He needs to be able to play in the AHL.

if there is a way to do this---Id loan him to a KHL/Sweden/Finland team instead of sending him to JRs. I would look into this for next year if it looks like there isnt a spot for him.

If you gave up a pick in the 2-5 range, they might listen if they REALLY liked one of the guys at that spot, but besides that, no way.

Not unless it's for a top 4 pick (Drouin, Mac, Jones, Barkov)
