And Edmonton has a better penalty-kill than them (6th).

I hate early starts like this, and it's even worse tomorrow because the Flyers and Pens play at the exact same time.

Let's hope this game is half as entertaining.

There's no better team to start turning it around against... Canucks win 5-1.

It's not like the Canucks are a great PK team, there aren't exactly a lot of great penalty killers on the team. You don't see a lot of guys blocking shots or consistently winning puck battles. For whatever reason, the Canucks seem to play with a passive box on the penalty kill. I would much rather see them blocking shots and being aggressive on the PK, kind of like how the Sens, Rangers, and quite a few other teams play.

Plus guys like Hamhuis, Hansen, Garrison and Tanev are all good defensively, but there aren't any guys who are elite on the PK.

5-5-4 vs non-NW division teams.
LET'S MAKE IT 5-5-5!!!

Look at that CBJ line-up.

We don't win this one, I flip tables.

Adrian Aucoin, one of a dwindling number of canucks from my high school years. I'll be watching him closely.

is he the last active player to have worn the spaghetti plate jersey??

Steve Staios retired last year, and Donald Brashear is probably retired now, so Aucoin may very well be the last one.

EDIT: Jassen Cullimore just retired, too.

I predict we lose.

As is par for course against blatantly weak teams. Bobrovsky is going to play on his head and the Jackets somehow end up with a win in which they get outplayed.

Schneids let's in one softy off a bad rebound.

Ballard biffs a breakout pass and gets benched in the 3rd.

D. Sedin scores on the powerplay.
Raymond scores off a wrister.

We lose 3-2.

The next 3 on the road trip are Columbus, 2 days off then Minnesota, one day off then Columbus. This is a good opportunity to get a bit of breathing room on top of the division.

If Luongo starts:

Columbus wins 4-3 in a shoot-out as Atkinson schools Schroeder late to tie it up and then wins it in the SO when Luongo reverts to his much practised belly flop strategy.

If Schneider starts, Schroeder's caught standing still as he watches Schneider save his bacon with an outstanding stack the pads toe save and the Canucks win 3-2.

Columbus wants it more. I think they can surprise the Canucks early, then check them to a standstill. 2-0 Columbus with an empty net goal in the final seconds.
