Dubnyk keeps the team in it as long as he can.

Oilers goal will be scored by Jones.
you probably meant to say Dubnyk plays adequately as long as he can before giving up a softie in the third.

but I do disagree in the fact I think the Oilers are going to win the game tonight. It's actully one I wouldn't mind catching some of. I hope I can at least make it to a TV for the 3rd.

I really hope the Dubby experiment is over soon, that guy is killing us right now more than anyone else on our team.

When Habby back?

I think he has played adequately. while he gives up some bad goals, I would NOT say he's killing the team the most.
the crappy defensive play by the skaters and lack of scoring is worse. Dubnyk is third on the list, for me. lol

Dubnyk has faced the most shots in the league and has won us games numerous times. He is doing fine. I'm not going to judge him harshly until there is a solid defence corps in front of him. Besides Schultz you can argue everyone of our dmen are 4-6 on a good teams. I imagine he would look a lot better with better dmen.

Can we finally put Yak on his natural side?

Hall-RNH-Yak
Paajarvi-Gagner-Eberle
Jones-Belanger-Hemsky
Smyth-VandeVelde-Brown

Can't imagine this team gets out shot worse than previous lineups this year.

I really don't like seeing Eager sit this one out, Smyth's sloth like speed will probably get feasted on tonight by the Wings. I am glad that Smyth at C is over and done with, but I'd rather Eager be in than Smyth.

Yak is playing right side today, wasn't he the last game?

Kreuger said they aren't as physical so they don't need him, which is a valid reason. But why not try be a team that makes life hell for a softer team, much like what has happened to us.

We usually play well against Detroit, we're due for a win! Let's go!

We usually play good against Detroit in JLA but the fact is this team can't score.

2-1 Detroit maybe 3-1 if they find the empty net.

I agree. Rather have Eager in there than Smyth.

Smyth at his age and his style needs to sit a game out every 4 games. With his tired legs, how many times is his pocket gonna get picked by Datsyuk tonight?

Eager's speed and hit will be more useful against the Wings than Smyth. And Wings doesn't fight much so no worries for Eager's concussion concern.

Let's kill two birds with one stone tonight.

Force their questionable D with a strong forecheck. Make them make mistakes.

Then offer them Ryan Whitney after the game.

It's flawless.

Edmonton keeps it close, maybe even has a lead in the 3rd only to lose on a game winning goal by Filppula inside the final TV timeout.

3-2 Red Wings.

Edit: just found out Filppula is on IR. So maybe it's Cleary or White instead.

Eager played his worst game of the season against Columbus, look largely disinterested, and one wonders whether his play is again falling off the cliff. Eager had one hit in the previous game as well.

The team obviously also concerned that he brings virtually no other value, cannot fight, and that when he doesn't even hit he's basically occupying a jersey.

The actual goal he scored on the roadtrip I take as a mixed blessing. Because as soon as Eager scores one he's likely to consider himself a hockey player instead of performing the roles he's here for.

I suspect the team recognizes the same.

Its a sad time, but the bloom has once again come off the Eager rose. I have to say he maintained his play longer this time.
