Sproul was number 1 in this HF article for best drafted OHL Defenseman

http://www.hockeysfuture.com/article...ohl-defensemen

Quote:
The 6’4” defender often makes a big impression on the ice for the Soo Greyhounds, and this year — despite an injury-delayed start to the season — he cast a big shadow on the rest of the league.

Sproul led the OHL in defensive scoring and was one of only two blueliners, along with teammate Miller, to reach 20 goals in the season. With 66 points in 50 games played, Sproul’s play turned heads throughout the league this season.

In the annual coaches poll, Sproul took home the titles for Hardest Shot and Best Offensive Defenseman. He also was the runner up in the Best Skater and Best Shot categories. In addition, he earned OHL Defenseman of the Month honors in both December and February of this season.

Sproul has shown an incredible ability to recover from seemingly devastating injuries. Last year, he returned to the lineup just seven games after suffering a broken jaw while this year, he began the early part of the season with a broken arm, causing him to miss the better part of two months and 16 regular season games.

Says in the video he's up to 210 pounds? Wonder if that's true, if that's the case he can't be too far off.

You guys should go check out Todd Cordell (@toddcordell) and what he had to say about Athanasiou tonight.

Andreas Athanasiou is a mini-Datsyuk. No doubt about it. Funny that the #RedWings drafted him.

Andreas Athanasiou, man. This guy is just a dangle machine. Wow

#RedWings prospect Andreas Athanasiou is having himself a game. Just an apple so far but has made Fronts defenseman look silly several times
Wow, not sure how credible this guy is but great to hear nonetheless. I'm pretty excited about this kid.

Yeah, I think he's got as much skill as any prospect in our system. I think the sky is the limit. Someone called him the steal of his draft class.

Maybe but he wouldn't make the final roster anyway. He's also Red Wings' property so it's their choice as well.

Nedomlel 0+0, +/- 0 in a 6-5 loss.

Sounds like Helm with hands

He was highly rated at the draft too, but dropped all the way to the 4th round.

I'm really excited for our future if most of these guys pan out, Jurco, Sproul, Ouellet, Jarnkrok, Pulkkinen, Athanasiou, Marchenko, Bäckman. Wow! Just gotta grind these next few years out

Here's the highlights from Athanasiou's game. Check out his speed on the two breakaways starting at 0:52. And the pass at 0:22 was pretty nice also.

Here's Quine, nice goal at around 2:10: http://www.ontariohockeyleague.com/v...a467ae0d55e2f0

Sproul's game. I don't why in hell he went behind the net on that last goal.

AA is probably the most underrated prospect in our pool. He's got hands, is blazing fast, and he's not small. Reminds me of Jurco in ways, though I think Jurco is going to be a stud. AA is a huge question mark.

Why do Andreas Athanasiou feel like a Nazem Kadri player?

Thank you sir! Not quite a PPG player but +1.2 per game. And no penalty mins, really nice series for Backman. I like the way he keeps developing and getting better.

Kadri is over a PPG right now so if a fourth rounder can compare to that we just stole the draft.

Its a pretty good comparison except Kadri is a bit of an agitator. But both have nasty hands, can skate and both even have very questionable attitude

Nice write-up on Mitch Callahan

Halifax is playing Saint John right now. With around 10 mins played, shots are 18-2 for Moose lol.

Nate has 2 goals already and Frk assisted on the first one.

edit. they added assist to 2nd goal for Frk.

edit2. add goal to that.

Lol. Make that hatty along with those 2 assists. 5 points and half of the game played.

LOL, now it's 6 points one more assist.
