Even with his slow start, he'd be leading the OHL in points right now if you prorate his scoring pace out over 35 games.

Which Coyotes are competing at the WJC? Any? Did I miss this discussion somewhere?

Samuelsson was on the 2nd line this morning with Eichel and Hartman in the 3-2 win over Finland. He was scoreless.

I can't think of any other Yotes there. I wasn't really bothered by Domi's omission until I watched Canada get throttled by Sweden today. Speed and passing are two of the main things Canada was missing.

Also Marek Langhamer will be in net for the Czech's. They only invited two other drafted players so don't expect much from them.

Thanks.

Totally forgot Samuelsson is a US eligible player.

Read the thread mentioning Langhamer

Worst WJC ever. Seriously my favorite time of the year and we don't have squat to watch. Oh well, time to turn my attention to draft eligibles. Any good ones out there?

I hope both USA and Canada fail to medal. It would make for an awesome tournament and it would strike back at two programs I hate.

Let's go Sweden?

Sweden looks really good. Add Forsberg and Elias Lindholm to a team that already smoked Canada and you've got a gold medal favourite.

Sweden has always been my second favorite hockey country. Love the talent they develop.

He's just never been the favorite child in that program. He's also never just stolen a spot

Every program has its politics, and I feel like Samuelsson has always been penalized for going to Sweden and then the WHL over the NCAA route, but like you said, a certain level of talent can overcome that.

Yes. I suspect Domi off team Canada has its political undertones as well.

Not as familiar with that one. What happened there?

On skill level Domi should have been a lock this year.

I agree with that, but what political obstacles did he have? I thought it was mostly just a style thing combined with the fact that he had kind of a slow start this year.

His father was not a very well-liked man in the hockey world, could be that I guess.

Is the group that picks the WJC roster the same one that picks the roster for the Hlinka tournament that Domi played in (with a prime spot on the top line with McDavid, if I remember correctly) last year?

Domi with open net for his 19th goal of season. Fantastic pass by Tierney. Adds an empty netter for his 20th.

Would. Love to see Domi play with a legitimate sniper. So many glorious scoring chances that are flubbed by his linemates.

4 Assists today by Domi. His 15th multi-point game of the season in 32 games played.

That's the way to deal with being snubbed.
