Very promising so far. Still has quite a big of physical development to undergo before being pro ready, but I see his upside as a shutdown 2C in the mold of Derek Stepan.

I was thrilled by that pick. I haven't been following him closely this season, but I love his skill set.

Very cool! Would a Max Reinhart be another fair comparison? Hopefully he blossoms into a good player for you. Lastly, will he turn pro this year or go back to the Q for one more year?

I don't think he'll turn pro yet...my bet is that the organization gives him another year to fill out before he turns pro.

I don't think he's AHL eligible for another season, so he'll definitely be back in the Q next year.

Maloney is on record saying he's trying to model the Yotes after Detroit, so he's going to try to stick with "low and slow" when it comes to prospect development. Dauphin will definitely return to the Q for another year.

I would hate to judge him based on one game but he looked like a legitimate prospect. I expect him to be offered a contract.

He was brilliant. It is like his body is made of soft pillows. Pucks hit him and just drop to the ice.

Commentators joked he should get 1st, 2nd and 3rd stars because he was "that much better" than everyone else on the ice.

With 50 pts in 55 playoff games (17 in 17 this year) Samuelsson is the Oil Kings all time playoff scoring leader.

Shame they're now trailing the series and game 3 by 2-0.

2-2 in the second. Would have been 3-2 but Samuelsson's second goal of the game was waived off.

Seems like he's really trying to carry the team. Has a goal in each game this series.

Are you watching? I haven't seen him at all this year and would like to hear about his skating, and the pace that he plays the game at.

Skating and all around game is better. A much more well rounded game. His skill level still surprises me at times (in a good way). Definitely has top 6 mitts.

I have watched several of the WHL playoff games. Samuelsson plays a mean game, almost dirty at times. He looks like he enjoys it. He has better vision and passing skills than I expected. He really likes to crash the net and has a sniper shot.

His skating is a concern IMO. He does not turn very well and is not fast nor quick.

Samuellson with a beauty shot and a goal tonight. Strong game. Strong series.

Domi and Samuelsson had almost the same points this past season, but what is impressive with Samuelsson is that he played in the much lower scoring WHL vs Domi and the OHL. I believe Samuelsson will play in the A next year, but he may surprise at training camp. With the way he plays I don't think his skating will be a concern.

Samuelsson has been the best player in the WHL final so far. He was terrific in game 5.

If Edmonton wins the Memorial Cup will be must watch hockey for Coyote fans. Especially if Fabbri turns out to be our guy at #12.

Skating is difference between top 6 vs top 9 role. Samuelsson could be our version of Wayne Simmonds.

That may be a good comparison.

Samuelsson didn't appear to be real intense, but seemed to be in the middle of all the shenanigans...must say a lot of things under his breath to get under their skin. Wicked wrister on his goal...good vision on some deft passes as well....

Winterhawks took a few cheap shots at him as the clock ran out, but didn't seem to bother him as he skated away to celebrate the win

Samuelsson is fairly dirty. He plays a very heavy/hard game as well. Probably why his hands/vision shock me so much at times. He can truly play in any situation. Very versatile. Similar to Hanzal in that regard.

That's the type of player I think would pair good with Ivan Barbashev.
Heavy hard hitting line that can put up points. To bad Domi and Ivan both play left wing.

They are actually both centers. Domi projects as an NHL wing.
