Michal Neuvirth

Total speculation, but what could the Caps fetch for Neuvy at the deadline? With Holtby rounding into form and Grubauer developing nicely, Neuvy may be the odd man out. He's a FA after this season and I don't know if there's interest on either side for a new contract in Washington. He's got #1 potential. The Caps need a vet presence for Holtby anyway, not another young goalie in need of games for development.

If things go sour with Miller and the Sabres next year (2013-2014) I wouldn't mind them taking a look at Neuvirth.

At times he has shown he can be an NHL goalie, at others he has struggled. Just a thought though.

He is only 24 and needs a change of scenery. Maybe another teams goalie coach can get him on track again.

As a Nucks fan I would be interested if we move one of our Starters this season. But not interested if we get to the draft since we could bring up Lack.

A 3-5th round pick in 2014? Im sure I am lowballing big time but thats about where my interest is at.

I was thinking a 3rd + B/C level prospect. Is that unreasonable for a potential #1 who should be signed for a very reasonable contract after this season?

If the Canucks trade Luongo or Schneider, I'd be happy to see them bring him in. If we got an NHL forward back in a goalie trade prior to the deadline, we could ship one of Raymond or Higgins to Washington.

In the off-season, I'd think a veteran to give Lack some competition would be a better fit.

2nd+4th+4th (like Bob)... sounds about right. Maybe Neuvirth is worth slightly more because Bob was coming off a horrible year, while Neuvirth's season is just non-existent because of Holtby. It's not Neuvirth's loss, it's Holtby's win.

I completely agree with this. I personally have always liked Neuvy in DC and he has had bad luck of sorts with Varly and then Holtby shortly after. He certainly deserves a shot to be a #1 somewhere else

Neuvirth's trade value would better if he could play a few games and play solid. I think most teams would view him as a backup right now.
