Pens failed at trying get into Flyers players skins, they're penalized, and they pay the price. They better focus on offense, instead of trying useless cheap shots on their power forces.

And Fleury needs to be out, he's just not focused.. at all.

What's clear is, Bylsma is unable to turn this team around mid-game when we go brain-dead. He's not able to refocus them. This is been shown over and over. I don't care what else he does right. If a team takes us out of the game mentally (early), we're finished most times.

Maybe he'll prove me wrong tonight but I doubt it.

I'm serious about using MacIntrye almost exclusively against the Flyers. No one on the every day roster has the power to discourage Flyers buffoonery like he does. If his presence can do that and help calm/focus the rest of the Penguins, it's worth it. At the end of last year, they lost an ugly game to the Flyers and played them again next week. As I remember it, they called up MacIntrye for the next meeting and won.

I'm going to keep watching no matter what. It's really strange, I used to turn off games if the Pens went 2-0 or 3-1 early, but over timed I've become inured to it. Part of it is because I really feel like we can come back from almost any deficit with sufficient time. Not that I expect us to bring it back this time, but still, it's worth watching to see how Beau Dangles plays at the very least.

The good news, it's just one game. The bad news is, it's against our greatest rival.

Pens playing undisciplined leading to 2 PP.

What is Fleury supposed to do other than get ***** in net?
I agree, this is not Fleury's fault.

Gee, I wonder if the two 6'4" defensemen sitting in the press box would have helped tonight, guess we'll never know since Mark Eaton and Deryk Engelland are so much better than those 2 ever will be.

That's not all he's shown. Shown an inability to get them to practice what they preach before these games.

It's only one game if you refuse to remember the rest of this season or last season.

The most frustrating thing is that they showed in the opener that they are actually capable of playing a disciplined, normal game of hockey against the Flyers. Maybe it was just all the rust from the lockout or something, but they've shown they can do it.

We keep thinking that, but it never happens (although I appreciate your attempt to find a silver lining here).
