Be serious for a moment, Kessel shows little pride playing head to head against Seguin, he floats around on the perimeter scared of contact, Seguin outfought 2 guys for the puck on the opening goal. Those are little things but they add up.
Its not even a surprise anymore, Kessel's lack of drive against the Bruins speaks volumes of his heart and soul, not much there. You want talent, Kessel is it. You want heart, pride, and soul, Kessel is no where close to having these traits.

The people that want Kessel traded are generally the same people that have correctly been critical of this team for the past 7 disastrous seasons.
The people that want to keep Kessel are generally the same people that have been humiliatingly incorrect about this team for the past 7 seasons.
Speaks volumes...
I dont think anyone is saying dont trade Kessel. The ones who are saying this thread is complete ******** are the ones who are saying this is rash and isnt in the best interest of the Leafs going forward. If you can get Perry for Kessel i guarentee 98% of the board will be on board. If you want to deal him for a 1st and top prospect because hes "soft" and plays bad against his old team while our team is in the top 10, than thats the definition of ignorance.
Are we still talking about the team that's 6th in the NHL?
Must really bother you seeing the Leafs win being as big a hater as you are. I love that. I hope it eats at you that Burke assembled a winning team.
Even if your team is managed by a handicapped child...
if you miss the playoffs for 7 straight seasons while being able to spend right to the cap ceiling, just based on luck and odds you'll eventually make the playoffs.
If the leafs really are the real deal, I will be 7/8 over the past 8 seasons. People like you will be 1/8.
And that must be humiliating for you.

Depends on who we're dealing for a first and who the top prospect is. If for example, we trade Kessel to a team projected to get a top 5 pick (closer to first overall) plus a top prospect, I'm all for it. Not anything less.

Lol people, I want Kessel traded but Jeff Carter ****ing sucks lol
He has a whopping 2 ASSISTS...he's not a complete player and is definitely not as good as Kessel.
I wouldn't say Carter is a complete player either.
He's just MUCH MORE of a complete player when compared to Kessel.
But I guess everybody is. Even ahl players.
I'd trade Kessel straight up for Carter any day of the week.

I'm here watching a team that's been rebuilding for the past few years finally come into their own. Unfortunately the byproduct is that we have creatures like you here because of that - who are lower than Habs fans - but it's happening and luckily we see less of you and people like you.
A loss was going to happen, and it happened tonight for a number of reasons. I hate losing to the Bruins, but I take solace in the fact that it burns you as much as it does that Seguin scored.
Now. On to the next one, and hopefully a win/your disappearance. We have a playoff run to make.
Even though he did a great overall job for this club, he REALLY ****ed up with this Kessel trade, I mean wtf was he thinking giving up two 1st round picks for Kessel?? Jesus christ, it pisses me off every time we play the Bruins and Seguin plays like a star.

I like this post a lot.
So when Chara is on Kadri's ass all night and Kadri can no longer produce with his shelter minutes then what? Then we fall back out of a playoff spot for an 8th straight season? We shouldnt be selling our best asset (23rd now apprently) for futures when we are comfy in a playoff spot.
Makes you wonder why Burke even acquired him and payed such a premium price. Talent wise, no questions, but the other stuff Burke must have known about. It's just interesting to me what kind of thought process was used by Leafs brass at the time. Why did they think that he was THE piece?

If we are almost guaranteed for a 1st overall pick, why not? If we trade Kessel for a top five pick plus a TOP PROSPECT, we may just get an almost an equivalent return for what we got for Kessel. Just because Chara is on Kadri's ass doesn't mean JVR won't produce. Plus Lupul should be back eventually. We shouldn't have to build a team around one player.
