Yeah I went through some quick math and that forward line-up would run about 40 mil or just over. Several teams are at that 40 mil mark for their FW group right now so it's high but not impossible.
I could see myself trading just about every single player for a fair deal except Pominville. He's a solid ass hockey player. Class act, big games in playoffs long past, still one of the most consistant players in the league. You want him around young players IMO.

And I think Pominville is part of a weak leadership core that can be moved and bring in a better leader. I like Pominville, I do, but not as captain.
Well, thanks to a big loss tonight, courtesy of the Avalanche, the Sabres on Sunday have a chance to put themselves 2 points closer to Chicago.
Still wanna talk "rebuild"?
Yes, please.
Side note: stop complaining about Pegula, people. He's the owner of the team, not a guy who's in it for a five year stint. He will make changes to make his business successful.
go spend 10 minutes reading over the Oilers boards and tell me if you want a full on rebuild, trading Vanek, Miller, Pominville, Stafford ect..
4 years being 30th in the league isn't worth having a better chance to win a cup..at least to me
What's the difference between what the Oilers have done and we have done in the last 4 years? I'd rather have Hall, RNH and Yakupov than middling in mediocrity.
I've probably spent too much time trolling the main boards, the overall intelligence level of the posting on this website has decreased dramatically in the last few months.

About 47 more afternoons/evenings sitting down to watch my team and actually getting to watch them win.

We have been a competitive team every year besides this, have made the playoffs 2 of the last 4, the Oilers have been the worst team in hockey during that period, its not like we didnt pick up some nice pieces over that time period either.
If we're going to be a middle-of-the-pack team again (which is what I am fearing), then we need to think real hard about what we're going to do with our 1st round pick.
For me, if I can't have MacKinnon, Jones, Barkov, Drouin, Lindholm, or Monahan, I'm packaging my first round pick with other assets to acquire an impact player. I doubt the Perry situation drags all the way to the draft weekend, but I may try to target him as well as Evander Kane and Bobby Ryan. If we're not drafting in the top 6 or 7 picks, Darcy needs to make a signature move to improve upon the talent we currently have on the big club.
Homegrown talent is the best talent, but it's worthless if they don't have the right veteran leadership to learn and grow from. Coaching and development is only half the battle. Our prospect pool is already pretty deep. I'd be making it clear that any prospect not named Grigorenko could be had. Maybe it's time to sell a few assets for a proven commodity. Re-stock at the 2014 draft. Pegula wants to win now? Well, Terry...you're not going anywhere with this current roster.

Or we package the 7th pick with another first rounder because we will most likely be sellers and gain another first rounder to move up into the top 5...
Just don't see a 7th pick. The have been awful just about out of the gate all the way to half way through the season. Dumped Ruff and have still only won 1 in regulation since then. Florida and Columbus are as bad as Buffalo. Everyone else in the division is IMO simply a better team than the Sabres. Only 23 games left. Top 3 pick looks very likely.

The Sabres are going to rebuild... Either starting right now, with a head start trading the Millers, Vaneks, Pominvilles on the team for youth an picks, or The hard way in 2014 when 2 or 3 of those guys leave for nothing.

The smart way, or the stupid way.
So I am curious ...
Who is "the Millers" besides Ryan Miller?
Who is "the Vaneks" besides Thomas Vanek?
Who is "the Pominvilles" besides Jason Pominville?
