I'd throughly enjoy seeing neither NYR or NJ in and would like to see Philly and NYI in.

Gaborik looked good in his first game as a Jacket. Really nice pickup for them. Ultimately replaced Nash with a more dynamic player and some nice surrounding pieces.

I wouldn't call Gabby more dynamic than Nash. Just traded one star for another + better depth

Gaborik's a three time 40-goal scorer. Nash has scored more than 70 points once in his career. Assuming health for the two of them, I'd put Gaborik a clear (small, but still clear) step ahead.

CBJ Fan here, thanks for the lack of support guys way to outshoot the Blues by 14 and still lose

on the otherhand i think a Columbus-Chicago first round could be a great matchup, Columbus has been a thorn in Chicagos side this year all 4 games decided by 1 point including 2 overtime games

Bobo is red hot for Columbus and they added a highly talented player who just had 2 points in his CBJ Debut

Edmonton and the Red Wings both down by 2 tonight so CBJ will pick up a point and tie Edmonton and come with 2 of Detroit, Columbus plays the Blues tomorrow and could grab the 8th spot tomorrow night

Jackets are just about the last team I want to play in the 1st round.

I can't believe the Sabres are keeping some of Pominville's cap hit. That explains why the return seemed a little high. Smart move by the Wild though.

Hawks magic number to clinch the division is 5 points.

Their goalie is solid. Do not want them in first round.

So pretty much no one wants to play anyone in the first round.

Edmonton, most seem to like them as a 1st round matchup.

I think we'll wind up with Detroit in the WCQF.

I think our best first round match up would be Detroit. A little long in the tooth, not incredibly physical, suspect defense, not great depth. Obviously the playoffs are unpredictable but thats a team I think we can beat pretty easily, 5 games.

If you look at the standings, I think the teams that are in now will be the ones when the playoffs begin.

Detroit please. I'm actually sticking with LA and Anaheim as the teams I'd prefer the Hawks somehow avoid in the playoffs. The odds of them playing LA in the first round seem pretty low at this point and playing Anaheim in the first round is virtually impossible.

Can they lose to the other teams? Sure, but I'd be fairly confident the Hawks would win against the rest of them in a 7 game series.

Agreed. Top 3 teams I'd like to see

1. Detroit
2. Columbus
3. Edmonton

3 teams I'd like to avoid as long as possible

1. Kings
2. Anaheim
3. Blues

I would love to face Edmonton in the first round. Overall, we've dominated them in play this year. They have zero guys on defense that could shut down our top players, and their goalie is just as "bad" as ours.

I have zero worries about facing them.

Right, the worry is going against a physical team that has a goalie that can steal a series (like the Kings, Blues, Preds, etc.). Teams aren't going to out skill the Hawks.

I don't care who we play. Take them one at a time. They would like to avoid us more than we do

Denver U announces out of the blue that they're firing their coach of 19 years that led them to 2 NCAA championships.

A week later, Scott Mayfield leaves Denver U by signing an ELC with the Islanders.

Coincidence?

I'd love for the Hawks to play Detroit in the playoffs. They shouldn't necessarily be taken lightly, but the Hawks should come out on top in a 7 game series. Detroit isn't too physical, have been somewhat inconsistent, and just aren't the same team they used to be. I'd take the Hawks in 5

Plus it would be fun to see them kick Detroit's ass before realignment.
