Not that bad.
IMO

Gaborik > Nash
Dubinsky > Brassard
Anisimov > Dorsett
Erixon > Moore

Also lets not forget the Jackets have the Rangers 1st round pick as well

I completely disagree about Gaborik being better than Nash. Just look at them when they were on the same team/system. Talent wise, he is better, but in a Cup game, I would much rather have Nash than Gaborik.

Same goes for Brassard/Dubinsky...Brassard has double the points Dubinsky has, but is slightly worse defensively.

The trade off makes sense for both sides, a lot of sense for both sides.

Not sure about that. I'd say Dubinsky is the prototypical torts player. Gaborik certainly isn't, but neither is nash really, he's about as useless as they come defensively.

Dubinsky is but they had to give up what they could for Nash. Dorsett will fit in well and I guess I should have prefaced when I talk about the CBJ/NYR trades, I also include Clowe when talking about the Rangers' perspective because moving Gaborik's salary allows them to keep Clowe.

Nash is a lot better defensively than Gaborik, and he goes to the net with power, and can hit too. If he didn't make so much money, I would love him in Chicago.

Gaborik has had many years better then Nash playing in defense first systems

Also lets not forget last year Gaborik was 40 goal scorer for Rangers so not sure what about Nash this year is more impressive then several of Gaborik's years in NY

As for the playoffs ,, I would rather have Gaborik as he actually has playoff experience and had one year in Minny in which he nearly carried the franchise to finals

Brassard is a lot worse defensively then Dubinsky and cant win a faceoff

Devils getting steamrolled

Most of 1st period the B's have been shorthanded but as of right now they are all over them in every facet of game

3-0 Bruins in 1st ,, 2 goals shorthanded and also had a penalty shot that was stopped by Brodeur (Terrible attempt though) on PK

Someone needs to take the Ranger highlights and show the Hawk dman. Both of their goals tonight came from quick wrist shots from the point. Neither of them very hard either, but both were deflected.

Actually one of those goals was from the Bruin, Devils game, but you get my point. Forget the big wind up and slap shot .... Keith and Seabrook, I mean you.

I'm not going to continue to argue, because I know you don't like Nash one bit, with no good reason.

Nash is the better all around player, and I would take him 10 times out of 10 in the playoffs over Gaborik.

Its almost a forgone conclusion Hawks will get the #1 seed. More concern to me is whos the first round opponent. Id prefer Detroit but Dallas or Phoenix may pass them.
Columbus has also been a pain each game.

Dallas certainly doesn't worry me. We've killed them and they've traded away 2 of their best players.

and yet have arguably been better since dumping jagr and roy, and too alesser extent morrow. They are 3-0 with 12 goals vs anaheim, san jose and la since the deadline.

Well they traded all of those guys pre-deadline. They are 3-1 since Roy and Jagr, 4-4 since Morrow.

Fire bowman! Should've given 1st + Olsen/Clendening for Roy. He's a 2c so he automatically makes this team better

I don't understand the point of this. We're a worse team without Roy than with him. That cannot be disputed. Hopefully we have enough to win the Cup as is. I like our chances, they just aren't as good as they would be if we had Roy in addition, that's all.

The point is, IMHO that Roy was never as good as so many of us put him out to be. He's been struggling for the past 120 games and I think many of us overlooked that because he just so happened to be a semi-available semi-2c

As a worse team, we're still the best.

I agree that he wasn't the perfect choice or anything but like you said, he was available, and for a very cheap cost. No point rehashing any of it now.
