lightning and caps are both comically bad right now. lightning have spent about 1 min in the offensive zone. they are simply terrible in transition. Thompson committed an awful to behind his net that led to panthers tying game at 2.

not sure how Boucher can keep his job much longer.

Versteeg injured

Looked bad ,, Could be season ending

Dale should have trade him and Weiss when he had chance

Completely pathetic game management from Julien in the 3rd. The Pens can't defend, try to step on their throats...nope, I'm gonna let my team sit back and absorb pressure until they come back.

Wild and Ducks tied late.

Hope Steeger is ok, was gonna suggest Hawks pick him up in the soon to be fire sale from the Panthers. That team is sunk, one year after they had finally turned the corner they look to be rebuilding.

Why would they dump Versteeg? That's just gonna make getting to the cap floor harder in future years.

He would also be redundant on our roster. We have enough top 6 wingers.

Salary cap wise yeah it's in their best interest to keep him but the Panthers need to rebuild, that's what they do. Why else trade Michael Frolik, David Booth, Keith Ballard, let Jason Garrison go to free agency!

In all seriousness the only reason that Skille, Campbell, Kopecky and Versteeg are there cuz they're Dales boys. In fact why have we not sent Kyle Beach for Stephen Weise pre injury of course.

In Florida Frolik was a 20 goal guy, Garrison was a PP specialist. Something about the Souteast conference made these guys heroes or was the rest of the roster so bad that they had no choice. I guess if Frolik played on the 06 hawk teams he'd be a 25 goal scorer.

We do? So we can't use a guy who helped this team get back on its feet, helped it win it's first Stanley Cup in almost 50 years. Could help solidify secondary scoring, rekindle chemistry with David Bolland, were gonna say no to that if Dale offers him up for a good deal. The sole reason we won a Cup is cuz we had depth coming out of our ears. So much depth that it was ridiculous.

The Hawks have pretty amazing depth right now.

Also, at the moment they only have $4.1M in cap space going into next year. Remember, the cap is dropping by $6 million. No deal for Steeger would make any sense for this club.

Their depth is good but it's not 2010 amazing good, Steeger might not be the right choice as everyone around here is clamouring for that most sought after unicorn that is a second line centre, but if we have to push a cap to win a cup you do it just like we did before.

Versteeg is nothing more than a depth player to this team as it's currently built. A depth player that costs about 2.5 times as much as the entire 3rd line.

Steeger, Ladd and Campbell were all luxuries when the Hawks won the Cup and obviously we can't afford those types of guys now and well never get the chance to prove how well that team would have done in the years after but I just want winners here. I guess much like prior to when we won the Cup the aforementioned guys plus Buff, Brouwer etc were all unproven. Stalberg has been invisible the last two rounds, Shaw has barely played cuz of the suspension, Bickell has been ok, I guess well find out what these guys are really made of this playoff year. Hayes, Saad hopefully will have a chance to prove themselves as well.

Race for #1 in the West gets closer and closer. I don't see the Ducks keeping it up
