Sounds perfectly fair, Spezza's 1st line winger, the next Corey Perry, and a 1st in a very strong draft.

Why would a 3rd line winger, a potential top 6 player, and a mid 1st land Bobby Ryan?

Michalek and a 1st would at the very least have to be included

"The next Corey Perry" was supposed to be Puempel, and he's already very much behind on those expectations.

Anaheim may or may not be losing Perry. I doubt they want to give up another top end winger for junk.

Um as a Sens fan I say yes please. As someone with a Brain I say why on earth would Anahiem even listen when Greening is the "proven" commodity.

Much closer would be Michalek, Zibanejad, and a 1st (or 2). And as a Sens fan I would not see this deal as worth it to the team even though the value is still probably better on the Ottawa side.

Ducks would not touch that offer. You'd have to swap Greening with Zibanejad and something tells me you wouldn't want to give something of actual value to get a guy of that caliber.

You want to get something you want, be prepared to give up a commodity you don't want to part with.

Ottawa GM Bryan Murray was willing to trade Perry for Comrie and first.

Thank god there was a dumber GM in the league in Lowe.

Actually it was worse than that ... it was Perry and a 1st for Comrie.

Until Perry's a sure signed thing, Bobby's name is as good as unmentionable. And if Perry were to leave it would take a LOT more than this. A LOT.

Bobby would be our last true scoring winger as we develop Etem and Palmieri.

I don't think this proposal is as bad as people are making it out to be.

Compared to the Kessel deal which is widely considered a vast overpayment this isn't that far off.

The asking price for Perry is a roster player, good prospect and a 1st round pick according to multiple reports. Ryan is signed long term so his value is probably similar to the superior Perry.

I understand why Anaheim wouldn't do this deal, but I don't think it's far off from realistic.

If the Ducks trade Ryan, it will be probably be during the draft and not during the season (where they are currently with the 2nd best record in the West). So it will be for that 1st and what position it is (and the draftee that they will target) and the major part of the trade.

However, I do not believe they will trade Ryan (signed thru the 14-15 season) with Selanne and Koivu "coming off the books" ($8.3Mil).

Ducks are gonna ask for much more than just a first round pick. Ryan is a proven commodity.

Think less along the lines of Greening, Noeson +1st and more along the lines of Zibanejad, Cowan +1st. The Ducks have 0 reason to part with Ryan until the Perry situation is finalized.

I think this needs to be brought up again. Signing Perry absolutely opens the door for Ryan being moved. It just isn't going to happen during the season. It may not even happen during the off-season either. Cap wise the Ducks are better off than most people seem to think. I do think it would happen, though.

It opens the door, but it should be made clear that it does not motivate a trade. We can afford all three.
