Mtl-SJS and Mtl-NJD

Habs get:
Clowe

Sharks get:
Gionta
3 round pick

Habs get:
Bernier

Devils get:
Moen
5th round pick

Why? Sharks have the least goals for in the NHL right now Gionta gives them a scoring option while they get a change of scenery for clowe. Devils get a veteran 3rd liner with experience who needs a change of scenery and at his best will help them greatly.

Habs get the solve their size and toughness problems in a low risk situation with a UFA and a quebec boy to make the French analysts happy

Thoughts?

Can't afford Gionta, and it's not going to help. It's not a personnel issue, it's a coaching issue. Anyone we bring in is just more than likely going to start having the same problems. The last thing the Sharks should be doing right now is bringing in veteran players they cannot afford.

We need young 2nd-3rd liners and a new coach.

I would personally try....

Travis Moen
Brian Gionta

David Clakrson
3rd/4th round pick'13

2nd round pick'13(MTL)
3rd round pick'13(MTL)
Yannick Weber
Michael Blunden

Ryane Clowe
Douglas Murray

I really doubt NJD and SJS make those trades. Clarkson is worth alot to them.

I'm pretty sure Clarkson is a no-go from the Devils standpoint. He means a heck of a lot to their team.

The whole point of getting Gionta is to add forward depth, we're not going to trade our top goal scorer to do that.

No we lack talent in our forward prospects, were not trading our best one for an aging overpaid one

And what has he done to put us there? He's 7th in forward points not counting Ryder he's overpaid, too small and not deserving to be in the top 6 of a playoff contender

He's still on pace for 24-25 goals (and he's usually finishing stronger) after missing a year of hockey.

He's not great, but it's not bad either. He most certainly still qualify as a potent depth scoring threat.

Isnt Clarkson a UFA that they could see walk after the season? Do the devils want to risk losing their second good player with nothing in return?

Like I said in other topics, eat 1-1.5 million in salary, and I'll be more than happy to take Gionta.
