Robidas to Toronto?

Think he would be a good fit with Dion Phaneuf on the Leafs 1st pairing.

Veteran top 4 RH DFD. Can play between 20-23 min a night. Has 1 more year left on his contract after this for ~3M AAV.

This is the RHD I want on this team. He's solid and skates well. Would make a perfect complement to Dion's high risk game.

Who cares? He's right-handed and better than Holzer. In Carlyle's world, that's all that matters when deciding top pairing players.

Go get him, Nonis.

He's been the defacto #1 for a few years here. He was garbage for about 6 games early on, but he is back to his usual self now.

He's old.

He'll just become another Komisarek, Connolly, Liles, Lombardi.

Toronto is a career killer.

In another thread a Dallas fan proposed:

Toronto

Roy
Robidas
Glennie

Dallas

Graboski
Gunnarson

I'd hate to see those guys get shipped out, but it has potential to fill some holes for us.

Value wise probably not too bad, Toronto says no though.

Roy is the exact opposite of the type of center they would be going for if they traded for one. He's not very good anymore anyways. Glennie is a complete bust, let's be honest for a minute.

I would be more inclined to trade someone like Kostka/Holzer+pick/prospect for Robidas.

The Leafs do this trade.

At this point I would consider using one of our buy-outs on Grabovski just to get rid of his albatross contract.

Gunnarsson has been less than impressive since returning also - I think the word is soft.

Roy is an expiring contract and would give us even more cap space to target premium FAs in the offseason, Kadri has emerged as the de facto 2nd line centre. Gunnar also hasn't exactly been the same this season, and with him moved that will allow us to bring Gardiner up. Why would we not do that?

Roy is playing pretty well in Dallas now that his shoulder is fixed. I don't want to move him unless he wont resign.

He is not a part of the future of the Stars. The team has 4 smallish d men and don't seem to want to play with more than 3. Daley and Goligoski have long term deals, Larsen is suffering from 2nd seasonitis, and Robidas is unlikely to be around when Oleksiak and Nemeth are ready for fulltime NHL work.

Robidas is more of a 3 on a contender, but he has been the #1 by default.

What would it take for him?
