No. Carlyle's a good coach. He's just a stubborn mule. Might take a blowout to change his mind, but even then he likes his AHL guys.

I am pretty darn sure our GA/G are lower with Liles in the line up.

Seriously...what the heck do Holzer and Kostka have on Carlyle?

How are LILES and Gardiner not on the team?

I hope Carlyle loves being hemmed in our zone because Crosby and Malkin are going to take advantage of this slow defense.

We preach speed and our D are so SLOW.

I wish the fans knew why Liles is not in the line up..how does a regular NHL'er for 7 years not be on the team?

The Leafs have a ton of cap space next year (something like 20+ million). Liles is the superior player here over Kostka and Kostka would be lucky to have HALF the career Liles has had. Not sure a couple of subpar games is worthy of sitting for 10 and having AHLers play over you. If we're trying to make the playoffs, we have to have our best roster iced night in night out.

Yep, seems as if I am alone on an island for my admiration of Mike Kostka. He deserves more playing time because of how well-rounded his game is. Yeah, I'm going to get flamed. I don't care. I'm still going to be a part of the Mike Kostka and Phil Kessel fan club. Deal with it.

He likes players to play with a little edge to their game. I was hoping Liles was playing in a trade bait scenario. Maybe against a lesser team.

If you are thinking "who the H does he think he is"? The correct answer is .. the coach.

The Leafs are winning despite of Holzer and Kostka...and while they are 15-10, one bad losing streak and we're .500.

Liles, Gardiner > Kostka, Holzer.

This is just disrespectful to Liles. Even Komisarek, but Liles hasn't played as poorly as Komi to deserve any of this. And our breakout is severely lacking without Liles and Gardiner. Enough is enough!

Well you won't get flamed because flaming is against the Rules but posters can critique your post .

Liles, Gardiner > Kostka, Holzer.
I agree, Pi. Especially on PP2, it seems like they can't even set up.

Liles would just get exposed against this high-flying offense. Defense > Offense.

Liles, Gardiner > Kostka, Holzer.
There seems to be an issue with a righty - lefty thing here. If Liles goes in a lefty has to come out and who would that be?

Personally I am thinking that with Gunnar hurting they should bring in Gards. But something is going on there too.

I really don't see the reasoning behind the tears for Liles. I don't think he's much of an upgrade over Kostka at all. Kostka plays the same game with pretty much the same level of invisibleness.

not so much Kostka....it's Holzer on the top pairing that cost us two goals just last game, and many more before that.

You know, I get the issue with not playing Liles, I just don't think Kostka is the guy who should be the odd one out, I think Holzer should be. Kostka is a good minute eater, and I don't know why he is no longer playing with Phaneuf, where he looked relatively great.

I guess the whole LD/RD is a big deal.

I am with you on that too. Not sure what is happening with Gardiner thought, unless they believe that more seasoning down there will help him.

We NEED Liles' puck moving. Kostka brings down the 2nd PP unit and our d-core in general (except Franson) is terrible at passing and handling the puck in any of the three zones. With Gardiner in the A, we need Liles more than ever to aid the puck moving from the blue line.

It's a numbers game. He was injured to start and looked a step slow, so they didn't want to risk him not recovering fully while at the NHL level and not being waiver eligible, so they sent him down to be safe. He'll be back when needed.

Everyone stop complaining about kostka. He's a right handed shot for the right side. If you want liles or gardiner in, ***** about phaneuf gunnar or fraser instead

I thought Gunnar was the passing and handling the puck D-man. He can't be in there for his defensive capabilities.

Been sitting here reading the comments for the last 10min. Funny stuff, haha. I doubt the complaining will stop even if the leafs win. Holzer is enemy #1.
