That would be great to see........He stole the game the other night against the Canucks.
He's done that a few times. I just wish we let him play in the minors that first year and learn the north America game. Instead he's our starter and had a bad playoff run (as did the whole defense...) and we threw him away for blowsgalov. If stolarz continues to play well and plays well with the NHL the trade wot be too bad.
i really do believe that Bob will blossom into a top 10 goalie. His athleticism and work ethic just to great to fail him. I also love his attitude. he has high expectation for himself and is never satisfied.
We really like bob and his work ethic. can't see him being moved in the near future..probaly being signed to a extension pretty soon. defiently getting better at keeping columbus in games and we all no that's not a small task.really has been a pleasant surprise this yr.
I would have stuck with Bob instead of trading him and I think he's awesome and I'd love to have him back but that ship has long sailed. Management dumped Bob pretty quickly and we have Bryz now.
Bob is only 24 in his 3rd season ever in North America. He's not a bust he never got time to develop here because our team is run by morons. Now he can grow with a young defense in Columbus. I just hope Philly shows patience with stolarz and let's him develop. That way the trade isn't so horrible.
I will say it again..I don't think Bob will be a "fringe" starter for his career as Meltzer has claimed....I mean I hope he does for the Flyers sake otherwise if Bob turns into a solid starter the trade will go down as one of the worst ...
Quote:
In his last 230:43 played, Bobrovsky has a 0.52 goals-against average and a .981 save percentage. He's 5-1-1 in his last seven starts.
Sure, and combined with Bob's solid play he gets a shutout. That's ONE game.
Overall, across the whole season, Columbus has been pretty brutal. Largely because of injuries, I believe.
Edit: Saw this on the mainboard.
"In his last 230:43 played, Bobrovsky has a 0.52 GAA and 0.981 save percentage. He's 5-1-1 in his last seven starts. "
Funny. Just heard the coach say how great of a game Bob played and how hes settling in.
i've seen two columbus games this year one with bob vs. dallas and the other with mason in net and they were insanely competitive both games. like dominated and had opponents pinned in their end for huge chunks of time. they don't have crazy flashy players but the moves they made for nash were definitely an upgrade in terms of overall team play. and jack johnson is a beast. dude plays like 27 minutes a game. point is their not schlubs. we are a discombobulated mess right now. were not even in the same realm.
Please tell me you are not saying Columbus defense of
Johnson-Tyutin
Erixon-Aucoin
Nikitin-Prout
is better than the Flyers??
Honestly, the defense of the Devils isn't better than the Flyers on paper. Not even a little but their team defense is way better. Columbus may have a better team defense system too.
