Well then can you list your beefs with Engelland tonight? We must have been watching different games, cause I didn't see him make any mistakes, wasn't on the ice for any goals against, and threw the only big hit of the game (for us).

Ya the bottom six is... I dunno. Sutter and Vitale are the only legit guys, but Adams I'm ok with.

Glass I said weeks ago is ass, but I was told he hits a lot, so... ok.

Glass has made me appreciate Adams. That's ****ed up, right?

I think....

Cooke Sutter Dupuis
Adams Jeffrey Vitale

Would crank things up. Dupes is a star third liner, Vitale is a beast and Jeffrey is a shutdown guy if you ask him to be.

Orpik's decline has been steady since the Cup run. He's playing purely on reputation right now. Eaton and Despres have both been better than him.
Ray Shero could address a lot of his team's holes, by addition and subtraction, by moving Orpik. I just don't think he has the stones to do it. It would be a big and gutsy move for him.

IMO, you could give Despres 18 minutes and Eaton 15 or so minutes and be better off than what you get from Orpik getting 20+ minutes and Despres getting about a dozen.

Issue is the pairings . . . Nisky-Letang, Despres-Martin, Eaton-Engo?

You want to get Kulie out of Toronto? Here you go . . . Kennedy, Orpik for Kulie, Holzer.

Kunitz-Sid-BB
Kulie-Geno-Neal
Cooke-Sutter-Dupuis
Jeffrey-Vitale-Adams

That one move, and then Shero can see if any window dressing moves make sense and see if there's an impact deal to be made on defense.

That 4th line would be better with TK on it

Lol little slow right now, please explain.

And I mean yes, TK for Adams.

TK at 10 minutes a night makes him more effective.

Edit: no did not stick my head in the microwave

So you want everyone on the bottom two lines to be under 6 foot, 200lbs? Can we bring back Chris Connor and Richard Park and get them in the lineup somehow too?

Those lines need overhauled, not tweaked. It isn't going to happen this year, but at least get some size on those lines.

Other teams have pro scouts. I'm honestly not sure if Orpik has top-4 value anymore. If you can get a Kulemin or someone of that ilk I would probably do it.

1. Pretty sure he meant that you'll only see Adams out of the lineup the day you pry the lineup card from Bylsma's cold hand.

2. I just traded Kennedy and Orpik to Toronto for Kulemin and Holzer. Forward lines are set as Kunitz-Sid-BB, Kulie-Geno-Neal, Cooke-Sutter-Dupuis, and Jeffrey-Vitale-Adams, subject to Shero doing a little window dressing for the 4th line. Defense will be watched closely and a big move, if available, will be pursued.

I think Orpik's reputation gets you that still. And, think about it. You slot BB then with Sid and Kunitz. Then, you do some window dressing on the bottom six and in case Dupuis needs to slot back up if an issue arises with BB. Means you've got all the assets lying around to make an impact move on defense.

Exactly, I am sick of having undersized forwards playing on the bottom-six. We need players that are big and physical (who can play a regular shift also). We should have claimed Brandon Mashinter or Anthony Peluso off of waivers.

I`m all for an Orpik for a top-6 winger trade. I`d hesitate to mess with the Malkin line. He finally trusts both his wingers. He hasn`t done that since Malone and Sykora a thousand years ago.

I'm talking within the context of our current reality, not our fantasy trade wishes. As of right now, this is our roster.

Size doesn't apply right now, because we have none. At this point I want guys who won't be a liability.

And if we are going to bring up Conner, I seem to remember him, TK and Testy pretty much spending entire shifts in the opposing zone for about a month. I'd kill to have our 4th line doing anything close to that right now.

Letang is 3rd in the league in assists.

Not among defenseman. Among all skaters. That's insane.

Glass, Adams, and TK can all **** off AFAIC.

Kunitz - Crosby - X
Bennett- Malkin - Neal
Cooke - Sutter - Dupuis
Jeffrey - Vitale - X

We need a major upgrade at 4th line winger almost as much as we need one in our top 6. Somebody who his big, who can crash and bang, who is responsible defensively, and who can skate.

There is no world in which Adams and Glass are better hockey players than Jeffrey and Vitale. None.

No need to trade for him. He's in the Brinks truck. Will let him out after the cops stop looking for him in an hour or two.

Great game by Crosby tonight, guy was a beast. Stat sheet doesn't reflect his play enough. Looking forward to the rematch.

Crosby and Malkin in that first period... oh my.

Defensive issues need to be addressed at some point this year.

They said they were practicing 3 on 3 down low defensively, but I call ********. There is no way. They don't even come close to picking a guy and sticking with them. Unless their communication down low is SO bad.
