He's been playing really well lately and I'd hate to see him go. That being said, if there's a decent package for some scoring touch I'd be happy with it. Still would rather see him retire in Minnesota though.
Like I said in the Granlund thread, once Cullen is gone, all the Granlund mess should be solved/over.
No idea what to think is going to happen tonight. All I know is we need to come out with some jump tonight instead of our usual 1st period sleepwalking session. If we can do that I think I like our chances. Otherwise I don't think a 20-40 minute effort is going to cut it against these knuckleheads.
Also: ordered pizza with scheduled delivery time of 6:45.
1. They keep things boring. Knowing the Canucks are just dying for one of those breakout games on offence, the Wild will want to limit chances as much as possible by clogging up the neutral zone and making Vancouver fight for every inch of ice they're going to get.
2. They generate some offence playing 5-on-5. As much as the Wild won't want to push things on offence, they still need to show they're a threat playing 5-on-5. Minnesota has yet to score an even-strength goal in the season series which doesn't bode well for them in this game considering 5-on-5 play is just about the only thing the Canucks have going for them in the last little while.
3. They get some early success. The Wild might be able to get a not-so-confident Canucks team to start doubting themselves if they can get off to a quick start which includes getting on the scoreboard first – something they haven't done yet in the season series. This season, Minnesota is 7-3-0 when scoring first but just 5-6-2 when they give up the first goal.
I love how we get zero respect, even from a team that if we win tonight, we take the division lead from them. I get that we haven't found the right recipe to beat them this season, but we are still knocking at the door for the division lead.
I'd much rather trade Bouchard than Cullen. If we could get anyone to take him that is. Also, doesn't Cullen have a no-trade?
If teams were interested in PMB, I'd expect him to be gone sometime within the next week. Things aren't working out and he isn't too happy about being scratched (and probably even less happy after being scratched two games in row). But I really doubt it's going to happen.
